A woman I used to work with had a granddaughter called Kiora-Lee! I really had to struggle not to ask her if the next one would be called Um Bongo!

My friend had some hippy neighbours who had twins (b & g) called Xerxes and Appolinata. The girl was known as Polly, but how do you shorten Xerxes?!

She'll be an adult now, but....

Aniline

which I thought was lovely as a small child, but as we soon learnt at secondary school, it's a moderately toxic checmical compound.

Sorry, Annie, if you're reading this.

dadintheshed · 14/07/2009 10:15

what about MJ's kids though, feel especially sorry for the last one - Prince Michael, Prince Michael II and BLANKET! at least his brothers had semi usable names.

MadameCastafiore · 14/07/2009 10:19

Isn't Blanket his nickname?

ilikeyoursleeves · 14/07/2009 10:19

Pocahontas. Yes, seriously.

I met a baby whose middle name was Skania after her mother's HGV. If she'd been a boy it would have been the first name. Skania sounds more like a girls name to me though.

weepootle · 14/07/2009 10:30

Treacle

sameagain · 14/07/2009 10:43

I know someone who plumped for Honey after rejecting Annie, because they were worried she would be teased because of the musical

Metella · 14/07/2009 10:45

dadintheshed · 14/07/2009 10:51

However R'Marni is a stunner!

What about Porche? sorry if anyone's children are called these names by the way....actually, not really! It's all individual preference, I quite like Honey

Heard a story once about a little girl called Choley (well that was how they pronounced it), and when asked how they spelled it the parents said C-H-L-O-E .
