Girls names from songs...

OH is a singer/songwriter and is sort of obsessed with song lyrics. He wants to choose a girls name that is from a song, but I'm not loving any of his list so far.
So can anyone give me girls names and the associated song or artist is known?

To start off, his faves are;
Martha (from a Tom Waits song)
Sarah (Thin Lizzie) and
Layla (Eric Clapton)

Any thoughts?

A little bit of Monica in my life
A little bit of Erica by my side
A little bit of Rita's all I need
A little bit of Tina's what I see
A little bit of Sandra in the sun
A little bit of Mary all night long
A little bit of Jessica here I am

Bambo no.5

But I hate all of those!

A pair of eyes...that are brighter than the summer sky... when you see them, you'll realise...why i love my sweet Lorraine. Now when it's rainin i dont miss the sun...cuz it's in my baby's smile...

Oh how i wish i was Lorraine!

wrinklytum · 15/05/2009 22:55

Elise is a beautiful name.It was my second choice for dd and I knew a very lovely Elise who was a ward sister in a palliative care unit and just the most calm gentle and all round lovely person...

Anyhow will stop waffling.

Didn't Leonard Cohen also do a song about Suzanne or Susannah or something???

Marthasmama · 15/05/2009 22:58

He did indeed wrinkly but poor Suzanne wasn't a particularly fortunate character bless her. 'And you know that she's half crazy, but that's why you want to be there.'

JoPie · 15/05/2009 22:58

Suzanne takes you down, to the place by the water.... and she feeds you tea and oranges that come all the way from china (or something like that)

"Oh Elise it doesn't matter what you do
I know I'll never really get inside of you
To make your eyes catch fire
The way they should
The way the blue could pull me in
If they only would
If they only would
At least I'd lose this sense of sensing something else
That hides away
From me and you
There're worlds to part
With aching looks and breaking hearts
And all the prayers your hands can make
Oh I just take as much as you can throw
And then throw it all away"
