Fox Joseph

Fox Alexander Joseph

Those are actually really good names.

Shitmonger · 13/02/2026 23:43

I’m sorry but “Fox Cunt Joseph” is absolutely sending me 🤣🤣

Willowywisp · 13/02/2026 23:43

Cub

Crumpets12 · 13/02/2026 23:44

If it makes you feel better I know of 3 children called Fox in quite a smallish town so I think it’s quite a “normal”ish name now.
I know it’s another animal but Fox Griffin Joseph came to mind.
Fox Campbell
Fox Cameron
Fox Maxwell
Fox Elliot
Fox Sebastian

I guess something classic. I don't hear anyone making jokes about Bear Grylls and it's no different really.

Bear isn’t his real name, it’s a nickname.

AmberDreams · 13/02/2026 23:45

I’d probably just go straight to social services.

Willowywisp · 13/02/2026 23:45

Is the baby a dog or a vixen?

OccasionalHope · 13/02/2026 23:45

I think you need a conventional/traditional name with more than one syllable, and I feel starting with a vowel works best after the x. I really like PP's suggestion of Alexander.

Jacob sounds nice with Fox.

It had never crossed my mind that that was his actual name 😆

summergin · 13/02/2026 23:50

Surely this is a joke and no one plans to give their child the name fox?….meet my child Shed Smith

Viviennemary · 13/02/2026 23:50

Rox.

Hereforthecommentz · 13/02/2026 23:51

It is a silly name. Does the baby's dad like it too? Perhaps you can get him to persuade her to name thier child something more sensible. Is it likely the baby could be a redhead? If so it's an even worse idea.
Alexander is the best I think to go with Fox but as a pp has pointed out the initials FAJ, perhaps not a good idea.

Shitmonger · 13/02/2026 23:51

On a serious note though, pregnancy hormones can really do a number when it comes to naming. Can you try gently guiding her towards something like Alexander Fox or Jacob Fox and then “calling him by his middle name,” knowing full well that the poor child will probably choose to be Alex or Jacob when he’s old enough? I think that would be my focus. Fox is an okay middle name and perhaps she’d be persuaded by the “think of future uni applications/job interviews” angle. Hopefully.

BerryTwister · 13/02/2026 23:52

It needs to be a traditional name, so he can use his middle name if he decides trendy wacky names aren’t for him.

Hohofortherobbers · 13/02/2026 23:53

I like Fox
Fox Elliott
Fox Alexander

lingmerth · 13/02/2026 23:55

Would your daughter consider having Fox as a middle name but still call him Fox and make it known that’s what he’ll be known as?
my dad and myself are both called by our middle names.

It’s not. I just googled and his name is Edward Michael Grylls. I think he gave himself the name “Bear,” which is fitting since he also staged a bunch of ridiculous (and inhumane) stuff on his TV show.

neleh87 · 13/02/2026 23:57

Spooky

crimsonowl · 13/02/2026 23:59

She's never seen the X files no! After her scan she decided pretty much straight away that she wanted to call him Fox. She does want middle name suggestions yes.

The dad originally laughed and called it a stupid name but now they've split (not over the name!) so dd only sees it as her decision. His name is only 3 letters aswell so it's not like the middle could be dads name and I doubt dd would agree anyway.

I'm not sure if the baby could be a redhead but dd’s siblings are redheads but dd herself isn't and tbh myself and ex were quite shocked at the time

Even if that was his real name (it’s not) it’s relevant to the job he does. Had he have been a lawyer and called himself bare grylls .. would have been stupid

Edward = Ted = Teddy = Bear
