Opinions on the name Piper?
I am not sure on a middle name or anything as of yet but I’ve recently come across the name piper and I really like it.

What’s everyone’s brutally honest opinions on the name?

I like the name. I knew a lovely girl at college called that.

It’s my cat’s name. She is gorgeous - it’s only my cat’s name because I’m not having more kids. I think it’s a great girls name.

I run a club and we have two of them. They are about the same age - 9 or 10. Both girls. Personally I don’t like the name and also parents of both girls are very over dramatic and competitive. Not that that’s relevant!

I love it. I work in a large primary school and as I am aware there isn't one Piper in the school - however there are 2 Pepiya's which I had never heard of before and several Parker's and Harpers.

Thanks to The White Lotus, I’m hearing Piper (all the syllables and more!) delivered in Parker Posey’s glorious southern accent…

I love it. I’ve met 2. Loved it on OITNB. Was on our list. Will say may be bit downmarket though.

I think the first time I noticed it was with the actress in Coyote Ugly. It's not the type of name I'd normally like, but for some reason I really do. I always think a Piper will be pretty and very cool!

2014 was when OITNB came out I think? Bet that’s why it peaked then, before that characters terrible character arc! Much like danerys/khaleesi from GOT.

I think it’s a surname really and I don’t like surnames as first names. I would assume she was American.

I’m not keen. I know one who is 8. It hasn’t grown on me.

Year before so was probably just really hitting it's stride and getting into the public consciousness by 2014.
I think of bagpipers, oil rigs and potatoes before I think of Piper Chapman and Alex Vause though. It's not a name I'm keen on.

Piper is an attractive name.
I think of a lassie with a bagpipe or a flute.

First thought Charmed. Second thought actress in Coyote Ugly. Because of the Charmed association I prefer it to Harper, Spencer, Darcy, Riley etc which feel similar to me and are a bit surnamey.

It’s my dog’s name. I’ve heard of some wee girls named Piper but for me it’s associated with my gorgeous pup. Love the name though!
