Just wondering? I have always liked Tabitha, Martha, sebastian. I know an Arthur and Monty. What would you class as a posh name and also as an embarrasing name!

I wondered about Miriam - the little girl who was talking to us over my parents' wall yesterday has a friend called Miriam and she (wall-lurking little girl) was rather posh so I dare say Miriam is too.

Jonty? Proper name or nickname. Definitely posh.

People really call their kids Ptolemy? Why?

He was a Greek astronomer/astrologer who lived in 1st century AD. How on earth did his name became a name for posh English boys?

Excuse my ignorance, but in which Shakespeare play was there a 'Ptolemy'? And was it the Ptolemy (astronomer/astrologer in 1st century AD) or was it another guy by the same name?

aquilla (sp?) is posh for a boy.

Ptolomy will always be posh -and I will always insist on saying it with a p.

I think Claudia is a bit posh, but lovely.

Margo is posh.

I also love Martha.

There are Raiff(sp?) and Boris at DSs nursery which always make me smile!

Boris looks like a little bruiser and Raiff is a weedy little thing!
