Makes me think of a smelly person. Don't know why. Sorry [unhelpful emoticon]

cornsilk · 01/04/2008 23:48

Cruel. Have you not seen Shrek 2?

TheFallenMadonna · 01/04/2008 23:49

No no no

All the caveats about if you love it and all that

But no.

Flum · 01/04/2008 23:49

Oh dear praps he can be my imaginary son like my imaginary daughter Genevieve which I bottled at the last minute and called her something much simpler.

Then I could get on the Larger Families topic with kids and imaginary kids, its all so busy round here!

I am currently watching Blazing Saddles on TCM ..need I say more...pure wickedness

Neverenough · 01/04/2008 23:52

Genevieve is good.
Mungo is
Fine if he turned out to be an artist, university professor even. But admire your chutzpah!

LynetteScavo · 01/04/2008 23:53

I love the name Mungo (happy memories of a Scotish game keeper), but I wouldn't use it for my child. (Just my imaginary labrador)

amytheearwaxbanisher · 01/04/2008 23:54

mungo?really?dont do it

zippitippitoes · 01/04/2008 23:58

just reminds me of mungo jerry and doesnt the other guy have cool hair lol

Flum · 01/04/2008 23:58

Ohh I will mourn the boy called Mungo I never had for ever. I mourn Genevieve. Everyone says call the next one Genevieve then if its a girl. But I can't coz it feels like DD2s name and she is left with a Ford Mondeo name when she could have had a Bentley of a name.

Oh deary me. This is the thing I think about most when am pregnant. Silly really.

zippitippitoes · 02/04/2008 00:00

bandgeek · 02/04/2008 00:00

My gran used to talk about one of her childhood friends called Mungo, and I used to to pmsl everytime I heard the name.

Sorry

TheFallenMadonna · 02/04/2008 00:00

I believe Genevieve was actually a Darracq (sp?), not a Bentley

Flum · 02/04/2008 00:02

I love it. It's one of those names that's so out there you'd really have to grow into it and make it cool. My cat was called Mungo, which I think my husband is relieved about because it meant he never had to argue vociferously against calling any son Mungo.

WindUpBird · 02/04/2008 12:27

I have an unwanted housemouse called Mungo so for me, cruel in the extreme!

mejon · 02/04/2008 14:09

I like it - but for those of us of a certain age, it'll forever be associated with Mary and Midge!

cheesesarnie · 02/04/2008 14:11

i usually like slightly unusual names but not sure on mungo.sorry

doggiesayswoof · 02/04/2008 14:14

Well, he's the patron saint of my home town but...

No. never.

How about Magnus instead?
