Long name for Cuddy

We're expecting our second baby and I am really keen on Cuddy as a name, which is usually a nickname for Cuthbert. We live in Northumberland so it has connection to St Cuthbert. But my husband isn't keen on Cuthbert, but only likes Cuddy if it's a nickname for something else. Any suggestions for what the birth name could be if we shorten to Cuddy?

The name immediately makes me think of American rap artists. Was this intentional or accident?

in terms of a longer name, I think if you want to go with it, why not just name the child Cuddy? Does there have to be a longer version?

Cuddy is not a name to me. It is a wee girl in Ireland, as in "a wee cuddy".

In Scotland it is a horse or donkey.

Sorry but that is an awful name. Please do your future child, who will be an adult, a favour and think of something else.

None of those listed names would immediately make someone think of "chewing the cud" though.

Cody would be far nicer. The child might not spend his whole life in the NE.

I don't like Cuddy, sorry. I think it sounds as though you are naming a teddy bear.

I don't mind Cuthbert, but would think of it more as a surname, even though I know it can occasionally be used as a first name.

The only thing I think of is a rude word that rhymes with dunty, sorry!!!
