We need a girl's name beginning with D ...

because our names begin with A and B - and then entirely unintentionally, we called DS a name beginning with C.

Front runners are Dorothy and Dorothea at the moment.

What do you think?

It is true that Dorothy used to be really common. It is my gran's name and she goes by the name of Hilda which is her middle name as there were too many Dorothy's around when she was a girl!

talkingmongoose · 16/03/2008 21:12

Ooh, I was going to say Dorcas, I love it, but when you think how the other kids will shorten it...

You know there really aren't very many nice 'd' names, are you sure about this?

Ags · 16/03/2008 21:16

I was desperate to call dd a d name as her brother is a d and I really had a thing about having a d and d! Confused yet?

My fave was Damaris but dh was not keen so we now have a d and i!

Ags · 16/03/2008 21:17

Also could have meant that we had a Dom and Dam if the names were shortened which would not have been good!
