because our names begin with A and B - and then entirely unintentionally, we called DS a name beginning with C.

Front runners are Dorothy and Dorothea at the moment.

What do you think?

Are you going for 26 then??

lentengrrl · 18/03/2008 15:40

Delilah

She could be a lila if she doesn't like the alphabet theme.

AtheneNoctua · 18/03/2008 15:50

You could always break the trend and go for another letter. Why restrict yourself to name you might not like just to get in line with the Alphabet?

pigwilts · 20/03/2008 00:43

devonne
daphnie
delta
dora
davina

Thank you all for your suggestions.

The Hon Enid, glad we're not the only ones!

DH is settling on Daphne. It has all sorts of connotations for me, so I'm just not sure.

To me, it sounds like someone:

  • fragile
  • pale with blonde hair
  • classbound rather than classless (cf, Tarquin and Tom)

What do you think?

Some names here

cyteen, I always liked Demeter because I thought it was pronounced DEM-et-er, but I just heard it on Radio 4 (the source of all correct pronunciation, obv) the other day and it seems it is De-MEE-ter. I've gone right off it!

mybabysinthegarden · 03/04/2008 00:08

I also once knew a Dafna, it is the Hebrew version of Daphne, I think.
