I'm quite a big fan of this but wanted to hear thoughts - I really like Alexa but don't want her to be getting compared to an amazon device for the rest of her life and I think this is just as nice.

I don’t like it sorry, sounds like medicine/ a weight loss drug

DontDareToGetOld · 17/11/2023 17:08

Please don't

YourWinter · 17/11/2023 17:09

Elixa? Seriously?

No.

How about Alicia?

Ragruggers · 17/11/2023 17:10

Sounds like a cough mixture. How about Alexandra?

PostmanPatAlwaysRingsTwice · 17/11/2023 17:11

It sounds like elixir, or the brand name of a medicine.

What about Elissa?

Jasmin1971 · 17/11/2023 17:11

I would not

SiobhanSharpe · 17/11/2023 17:13

Not really a name, more of a cross between Alexa and Elixir.

DawnieOwl · 17/11/2023 17:14

I'm of the school of thought that anything can be a name if it sounds good.

SoupDragon · 17/11/2023 17:16

But this doesn't sound good. It sounds like a drug.

Not if it’s already got a specific use and the child/teen/adult will get 🤨 looks when saying their name.

Chlamydia sounds lovely for a name.

FarEast · 17/11/2023 17:16

Sounds like either
a) you don’t know how to spell Alexa
or
b) you don’t know how to spell elixir- which is an awful name to give to a human.

But define "good", because comments so far are "sounds like [a medicine of some sort]".

WASZPy · 17/11/2023 17:17

I actually think Elixir would be better. Elixa just sounds like you meant Elixir but didn't quite get there with the spelling.

But it doesn’t

it sounds like an antihistamine

HAF1119 · 17/11/2023 17:17

It doesn't sound very good... but ultimately your choice!

Alexandra
Alissa
Elissa
Eliza

Or Alexa (though I'm not personally keen) better than Elixa

IWishIWasABaller · 17/11/2023 17:18

What about Alexis ?

Stickytreacle · 17/11/2023 17:18

You might like it, but your child may hate being stuck with an unusual name that sounds like a cough medicine.

EmpressaurusOfCats · 17/11/2023 17:18

Everyone & autocorrect is going to think it’s a typo for Eliza.

junbean · 17/11/2023 17:18

It sounds like the name of a medication. Probably because it's close to "elixir".

Dacadactyl · 17/11/2023 17:18

Elixa sounds made up and not a name.

Have you heard of the word elixir?

HelloClouds · 17/11/2023 17:20

That’s just Alexa with a South African accent!

What about Floolamoolaloo, that’s jolly to say! 🤭

Mamato29192 · 17/11/2023 17:20

Nope

fishshop · 17/11/2023 17:17

🤣🤣🤣

So so far we've had cough mixture, weight loss drug, and antihistamine.
