Venus, Story, Ember or Apricot?
I've narrowed my name list down to these.
I want something a little different to the top 20 names if possible.
Middle name would be Jean.
Which is your favourite in order please or what do you think?
Tysm for the help x

Its a joke, right?

MiniTheMinx · 11/03/2022 11:12

I've met someone called Cherry.

Horriblewoman · 11/03/2022 11:12

Apricot is similar to peaches as a name in that it's an absolute mad suggestion.

What's wrong with Amber?!

thingymaboob · 11/03/2022 11:12

I know two people called Cherry. They're both Philipino

strawberry2017 · 11/03/2022 11:13

Clearly a joke post

Spaghetti0h · 11/03/2022 11:14

Not a joke no need to be rude.

sorryiasked · 11/03/2022 11:15

Story, Ember and Apricot, though useful nouns, don't make nice names. Venus is OK if you're a Roman goddess, but a bit much for a spotty self-concious teen from Birmingham (as a former spotty west midlands teen, I loathed the fact that my unusual-for-the-era name made me more noticeable than all the Rachels, Lisas and Nicolas and Emmas at school)

Spaghetti0h · 11/03/2022 11:15

Hmm

Too plain on its own?

Ember… if I have to.

Story? Sporky storky…. So much fun to be had there.
Venus… fly trap but it’s ok
Apricot - bum fruit, Ape, Banana, Peach, Apple. It’ll be a different fruit every day!

Not a fan sorry- but different strokes etc!

Beamur · 11/03/2022 11:16

I know an Ember. It doesn't get confused with other names and it's a lovely name.
Apricot/Peaches is a hard no from me too. But agree that Cherry is somehow ok!

Anoisagusaris · 11/03/2022 11:16

‘Story, bud?’ is a Dublin (male working class - will be flamed for that but it’s true!) greeting. Grin

Cool. I have South Korean heritage. Love the Philippines.

Just dropping in the fact that Ember would have her own (sad and solemn) days, so that would rather put me off that name. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ember_days

SpinsForGin · 11/03/2022 11:19

My DS could never say Apricot.... he always says Apricock so that would be a no from me ( it's also not a name)

😂 ok I'm ruling that one out then seeing as everyone hates it.

@ChardonnaysPetDragon

it sounds like a litter of retriever puppies working in a strip bar.
I now want a short animated film about this. Venus is the raddled, experienced older mother hen (puppy) stripper, Apricot is the naive youngster just starting out, angst-ridden nerd stripper puppy Story secretly yearns to go to university, and Ember is the one with the big throaty bark who saves the club by turning it into a cabaret that takes in waifs and strays.
ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 11/03/2022 11:20

I love Ember, I think it's gorgeous. I quite like Story and Apricot too but would not be brave enough to use them. Venus is awful, waaaaay too much for a child to live up to. It'd be like calling a little boy Eros or Romeo or something like that, just too much pressure for most kids. Go with Ember, it's really nice.

MrsT36 · 11/03/2022 11:20

Cherry is very cool, though a lot of scope for her to endure “pop your cherry” jokes in secondary school 😬

Some suggestions as your names seem quite nature based;
Autumn
Winter
Summer
March
January
Harlow (maybe not with jean!)
Brontë
Clementine
Dove
Prairie
Meadow
Sunny
Wren
Hero
Avalon
Linnea
Tamar
Aspen
Astor

They are all ridiculous.

Minniem2020 · 11/03/2022 11:22

In the nicest possible way, as someone who has been laughed at and embarrassed by my name my whole life, please don't pick any of these.

MondeoFan · 11/03/2022 11:22

Ember is nice. I loved a song called Embers Fire years ago by Paradise Lost.
