Venus, Story, Ember or Apricot?
I've narrowed my name list down to these.
I want something a little different to the top 20 names if possible.
Middle name would be Jean.
Which is your favourite in order please or what do you think?
Tysm for the help x

Please don't do this to your child. My nephews have unique names and have both been relentlessly bullied for it. They now have significant mental health problems and have changed their names.

MiniTheMinx · 11/03/2022 11:04

Apricot obviously

ImJustNotMeAnymore · 11/03/2022 11:05

I like Ember. But. These babies will grow up into school children, teenagers, young adults, adults in the workplace. How will they feel when anyone asks them for their name on the telephone as an example for insurance? Or a tenancy agreement? A job application? Obviously it is your choice to make but you did ask.

SittingOvation · 11/03/2022 11:05

I actually quite like Story and Ember. The only problem I envisage is mishearing of Ember and people thinking her name is Emma or Amber which could get old fast.

Spaghetti0h · 11/03/2022 11:05

Of course I don't want my child to get bullied ... I've never known anyone with these names so hadn't thought of it that way.
Thank you to the people who've been nice x

@ChardonnaysPetDragon

it sounds like a litter of retriever puppies working in a strip bar.
Ouch But yes they're all pretty unfair to a child
YetAnotherSpartacus · 11/03/2022 11:05

All are awful. Sorry.

Spaghetti0h · 11/03/2022 11:06

Any suggestions then please?

Saga instead of story maybe.
But that's only because I watched The Bridge.
I would go with Jean. I'd say anything but apricot.

thingymaboob · 11/03/2022 11:07

What about Nectarine? I hear Mango is popular these days. There's a girl called Banana in my daughters school GrinConfused

RobinBlackbird · 11/03/2022 11:07

Ember is very close to Amber in sound.

MrsSkylerWhite · 11/03/2022 11:08

Peaches is daft too, tbf.

Severntrent · 11/03/2022 11:08

April?

WhatATimeToBeAlive · 11/03/2022 11:08

@Spaghetti0h

Aww I like Apricot! Is that a resounding no to that one? I didn't think it was too much different to Peaches etc
But Peaches is awful too. Same as Apple.
DartmoorChef · 11/03/2022 11:09

"I've never known anyone with these names"

That's because they aren't names. I'm sorry but they all sound quite silly.

vampirewellness · 11/03/2022 11:09

Ember is just about ok. I don't love it though.

No to the others.

Spaghetti0h · 11/03/2022 11:09

I quite like Cherry too

Please not Apricot Jam.

I think Story Jean actually could work, the other two I don't like.

worriedmum2022 · 11/03/2022 11:09

@WeAreTheHeroes

Please don't name your child after a mythical goddess, fruit that looks like bottom, the burning remains of a fire or a tale. So many dodgy connotations and she'll probably end up calling herself Jean.
I agree Just call her Jean!
worriedmum2022 · 11/03/2022 11:10

Are you being serious 🧐

No but Clementine is a name & no one blinks at that

I quite like Cherry too.

Cherry is much better. There was a very cool girl at my school called Cherry.

Ember will always get Emma/Amber.

Spaghetti0h · 11/03/2022 11:11

Yes I first heard it in Eastenders

Ember is lovely and can always be ‘Em’ for short.
