Hi there
Would love love love input and help!
My second D was born last Thursday and my husband and I are getting no where with names. I like strong, masculine female names, he likes more traditional girly names.

My favourite names: Dillon, Sidney, Margot, Riley, Rafa. His favourite names Isabella, Emilia, Katherine

We had agreed on Frances, Robyn, Leonie and potentially Emilia, but we know a few Emmes already and that means that nickname is taken. Other names I liked Riley, River, Leila, Suki, Sylvie, Adeline, Leila, Lila, Orla, and Margot, but DH not keen on many of these.

I wanted something that could be strong and powerful, I’m an Alex and love having a unisex name, and added complication is that DD2 looks like my father in law and I feel she needs a strong name to pull off her strong features!

All help welcome, really need to decide and update people asap

What about Cameron/Camryn? Or Blaire?

I also do really like Margot & Orla xx

BowerOfBramble · 16/02/2022 09:48

Your husband seems to be saying no to a lot of your ideas. Make him come up with 5 you haven’t already rejected!

Girls named after recent former prime ministers is a new one on me. Still, better than Thatcher or Browne I suppose. May probably the best option!

Hester
Honor or Honour
Matilda
Maud
Ursula

Anoisagusaris · 16/02/2022 09:53

Katherine is a strong name.

I wouldn’t consider some of the names on you’d second list strong and masculine…..Sylvie a lovely name but quite girly.

Riley is awful.

DebbieHarrysCheekbones · 16/02/2022 09:53

Jean
Inez
Dakota
Willa
Romy

he seems to like frillier and more traditional names than you.

Sloane
Lois
Emmy

shreddednips · 16/02/2022 09:55

Congratulations! I like Robyn from the list you both agreed on, have you changed your mind on it? Could be Bobbie for short maybe.

DebbieHarrysCheekbones · 16/02/2022 09:55

Yes Robyn is lovely

Penvelopey · 16/02/2022 09:57

SE13Mummy · 16/02/2022 10:01

What about Harriet, Henrietta or Charlotte? Or Scout if you want something less traditional.

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 16/02/2022 10:02

Frances is beautiful, and you could have Frankie as a nn.

Sunshinehouse · 16/02/2022 10:04

@BowerOfBramble that’s a good idea, I’ll get him to do this :)

@DebbieHarrysCheekbones I think we’re both keenish on Robyn, maybe need to properly review it again as DH has a little head and actually is quite like a Robyn so suits her

emmathedilemma · 16/02/2022 10:04

Cameron was my first thought although not a name I would personally choose.
Daniella / Danny
Drew
Roberta / Robbie / Bobby
Billy
Brooke
Georgia / George
Charlotte / Charlie
Marley

Sunshinehouse · 16/02/2022 10:05

@TwoBigNoisyBoys glad you think so, I think this is the closest to an agreed name that we have, but it feels quite a serious name for a baby but obviously that will change.

@SE13Mummy I love Scout but husband not keen

Frederica/Freddie

Dh gets a prettier version of a name you can shorten to a more masculine name.

Ekekekeke · 16/02/2022 10:08

I like Robyn and Léonie. I love Léonie actually!

shreddednips · 16/02/2022 10:08

Or Andrea/Andra with Andi as a nickname?
