Hi there
Would love love love input and help!
My second D was born last Thursday and my husband and I are getting no where with names. I like strong, masculine female names, he likes more traditional girly names.

My favourite names: Dillon, Sidney, Margot, Riley, Rafa. His favourite names Isabella, Emilia, Katherine

We had agreed on Frances, Robyn, Leonie and potentially Emilia, but we know a few Emmes already and that means that nickname is taken. Other names I liked Riley, River, Leila, Suki, Sylvie, Adeline, Leila, Lila, Orla, and Margot, but DH not keen on many of these.

I wanted something that could be strong and powerful, I’m an Alex and love having a unisex name, and added complication is that DD2 looks like my father in law and I feel she needs a strong name to pull off her strong features!

All help welcome, really need to decide and update people asap

I named my girl Edith, it wasn’t on our list it clicked when she was about a week old. I found it when searching girl names during a 3am feed.

Others that I had picked out but didn’t use, Imogen, Rosie, Genevieve, hazel, clementine and Lucy. We tried each of them and they didn’t feel right.

Have you named her yet?

What is your eldest called?

My suggestions are:

Frederica / Freddie
Beatrice / Bea
Phillipa / Pippa
Florence / Flo

Good luck xx

@Emily6457 we have! We went for Frances Ophelia in the end. Nearly settled on Madeline, Oriana or Eva, but went back to Frances as it felt like the name we were both happiest with. Thank you everyone for your suggestions and help, it was very useful.

Gorgeous!!

Most of your names are awful, Sylvie is OK. I like the names on your DH's list.

FiftyStoriesHigh · 22/02/2022 22:30

Freya is pretty strong given the origins

cheapskatemum · 22/02/2022 22:34

Rafa is short for Raphaella (I work with one), which would appear to tick both yours and your husband's boxes.

Sunshinehouse · 23/02/2022 06:20

@user1493494961 what an unhelpful and not particularly constructive or nice thing to say. Sorry you’re having a bad day but maybe try to ensure you’re adding to the dialogue and not just spreading negativity with your comments on here or IRL.

@BowerOfBramble that’s a good idea, I’ll get him to do this :)

@DebbieHarrysCheekbones I think we’re both keenish on Robyn, maybe need to properly review it again as DH has a little head and actually is quite like a Robyn so suits her

Love Robyn :)

What we did was write 5 each.( without the other seeing) Each could then reject 3 each from the others list. Of the 4 left you write them in order (so you can't see the other persons) and the ones that coincide is the one. You can change the numbers to suit.
