I recently heard of an Elphinstone Dalgleish. Have also met a couple of kids called Star.

What fun/marvellous/slightly wacky names have you come across?

My mum used to work for the NHS, best names she shared with me were fraternal twins called Falcon and Falconess. Superb!

My colleague always tells me about the boy she was in school with called James Virgin. Quite an unfortunate surname in the first place but he had a sister called Mary! So on a register she'd be Virgin, Mary Grin

The head of department at my uni is called Gaylor Boobyer.

@ThedaBara

Met a lady who had twins named Natasha and Natalia... which is literally the same name
That's hilarious. My friend named her twins Natasha and Natalia. Where did you meet this lady... wondering if it's my friend?
Firebird83 · 13/01/2022 21:51

I taught two girls with identical names. Let's call them Sarah. There was a month between them.
Sarah A's mum was married to Dad. Sarah B'a mum was his girlfriend (who didn't know about the wife).

Both daughters names after dad's mum. Same school. The mothers and girls hated each other.

I saw the marriage banns posted in my local town the other day and there was a woman who had the middle name raindrop. I don't remember the rest of the name but it was very normal.

AlphaJura · 14/01/2022 11:50

@eggandonion what a lovely name! I've secretly always fancied the idea of calling a daughter 'Jubilee' (was never brave enough though) because I had a my little pony when I was little called 'Cherries Jubilee'.

I quite love the name Jubilee but it's very trendy among fundamentalist Christians at the mo so I'm not going there.

JovialNickname · 14/01/2022 13:04

You're all going to love this ... Stunna ... for a baby girl

MmeD · 14/01/2022 13:18

I quite like Praisemore.

There was a girl at school who would never say what her middle initial, G, stood for. Of course one day some evil or oblivious adult put up a list and her full Christian name was revealed as Mary Guadalupe.

itssquidstella · 14/01/2022 13:57

We used to live next door to a lady who gloried in the name Merlin Wankiri.

IggyIggyIggy · 14/01/2022 14:15

My DS had swimming lessons with a little boy called Spider Grin he was so cool.

WarmForDecember · 14/01/2022 14:57

I know if someone with Jubilee as a middle name, first name Dayspring which I think is used as a name for Jesus in the Bible? Or something like that. She is from a Christian background.
