I recently heard of an Elphinstone Dalgleish. Have also met a couple of kids called Star.

What fun/marvellous/slightly wacky names have you come across?

Without the context, it seems normal but my fathers orthopaedic surgeon is Mr Jellinek.

I actually like that. Not the -Mae, but Lollipop is pretty good. Lolla/Lolly for short... then you get to surprise them with your full moniker.

I know an Elizabeth who has married a man with the surname Queen. So in the days of phone directories she would have been Queen, Elizabeth 😁

I worked with someone once whose surname was Phoenix. Their son was called Ash. I liked that a lot.

I work with the public so get to hear a lot of fun names. We used to have a regular client called Dr D'eath and I often wondered which came first, the Doctorate or the apostrophe?

DoucheCanoe · 10/01/2022 23:34

Liberty Bell is probably the funkiest name I've come across.

I actually quite like the names Tuesday and Wednesday for a girl but would never be brave enough to use them myself!

BrutusMcDogface · 10/01/2022 23:34

I went to university with a Wright, who married a Pratt and their children are.., well actually they are Pratt-Wrights.

I used to have to contact someone by the wonderful name of Comfort Golightly occasionally for work.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 10/01/2022 23:38

I used to know a man (late teens/early twenties) called Justice.

He really suited it.

BrutusMcDogface · 10/01/2022 23:38

@frazzledfragglefromfragglerock

Blessing. He was no such thing (I taught him)
🤣🤣🤣
KingofQueens · 10/01/2022 23:38

My very first midwife was called Comfort. What a marvellous name for a midwife.

I knew a boy called Stanley Snowball.

I love names - I've taught a boy called Glory which I thought was a wonderful name. Lots of Blessings, a girl called Petergaye and she really owned it and took absolutely no shit from the silly boys who teased her about it.

BrutusMcDogface · 10/01/2022 23:39

Splendid names: Eustachia Vye (Thomas Hardy of course; not real!) is my all time favourite name and I wish I could have used it for my kids!

TheHuntingOfTheSarky · 10/01/2022 23:40

There's a YouTuber whose surname is Wadsworth and has called her son Wentworth.

Wentworth Wadsworth. The poor sod.

ImInStealthMode · 10/01/2022 23:40
