Hi all so I posted a while ago looking for a baby name for dd as there was nothing that really stuck out. Now She's here 🤦‍♀️
Both myself and my partner like Ava rose but I do worry it might be a bit too common, opinions?
I also quite like MIla rose or even Isla rose.
Pic attached who do I look like?

@IVflytrap

Ava Rose Marie (no hyphen) Or Ava Rosemarie as a pp suggested (and I think is lovely).

Traditionally, for given names, you only hyphenate first names not middle names.

I know be what your saying but I wanted a double barrel second name to be a bit different. I didn't want Ava- rose Marie, I wanted Ava Rose-Marie m. Because Ava and Archie match, and Rose-Marie is lovely together as a middle name

Someone earlier suggested Eva rather than Ava. She suits Eva. Not so keen on Rose-Marie.

MrsGilly1 · 03/09/2021 20:24

How about..

Avie (combines Ava and ending of your name Marie) Jessica xx

Avie Jessica x

finallychangedmyusername · 03/09/2021 21:02

Congratulations, what a cutie!

I think she looks like a Flora, Hannah or Emily. 😍

Emily Ava Rose would be great.

Hannah Rosemarie is also nice.

ThePotatoCroquette · 03/09/2021 21:06

Ava Rose-Marie is gorgeous, I think it really suits her. I'm not a big fan of double barrelled first names but really like it as a double barrelled middle name it's really lovely 🥰

user823445234 · 03/09/2021 21:07

Jessica Marie is lovely

AmelieLovesAutumn · 03/09/2021 21:09

How do you like Jessica Grace?

ODFOx · 04/09/2021 00:01

I've enlarged the photo of that beautiful girl and she looks like an Imogen Rose to me.

wtfisgoingon2021 · 04/09/2021 00:05

She's a Jessica !

Jessica Ava Marie

Jam Smile

beansprout55 · 04/09/2021 00:10

Hannah

DeeplyCheesedOffWithLife · 04/09/2021 00:45

Alice Rose would be sweet and classy

SE13Mummy · 04/09/2021 01:03

Ava is pretty but popular at the moment so if that bothers you, then I think Hannah would be a lovely name for her. Instead of Marie, perhaps you could have Mary as her middle name? Ava Mary and Hannah Mary both work well. Alice Mary is another idea.

Rose-Marie feels clunky and almost as though you don't realise there's a herb named rosemary so I wouldn't try to combine them

Snugglybuggly · 04/09/2021 01:10

Hate Paris
Love Jessica

mlj123 · 04/09/2021 12:05

I quite like Jessica Marie but dp doesn't like Jessica 🤦‍♀️

I really disagree about Jessica. It's very old fashioned to my ears (early 30s). I think it was very popular in the 80s so you get a lot of people my age with that name. Ava is much more modern sounding even if it is popular.

It was very common when I was at school as well, but that's exactly why it will actually not come across that way amongst what will be her peers. Ava will likely come across like Jessica did when we were young, that's just the cyclical nature of names.
peppapigfangirl · 04/09/2021 12:47

@aSofaNearYou I guess so... doesn't stop it feeling old fashioned right now though. The irony is that Ava is of course a very "old fashioned" name that has come back round but I wouldn't want to have the same name as my mates mothers, which is what this child might have if you choose something like Jessica (or Louise or Jenny or Claire etc)

Yes I see your point there. I think generally the names that come back into fashion are that of our grandmothers/great grandmothers, rather than our mothers.

But Jessica will probably be like Sharon/Lynn etc, whilst Ava will be more like Jessica was for us (ie a really common, currently fashionable name)

OnlyFlans · 04/09/2021 13:21

Ava is a lovely name but it's very popular - if that bothers you? There's loads of little Avas in DC's primary school not to mention all the Eva/ Evie etc.

I do like Jessica too.

How about
Cora
Chloe
Callie
Lana
Sasha
Freya
Lara
Connie
Etta

wizbit93 · 04/09/2021 13:49

How about Louisa Marie? Or Louisa Rose? My Nan was Rose Louisa May.

MinnieJackson · 04/09/2021 14:08

Oh she is lovely ❤
I immediately thought Rosie but I love Mila

MrsGilly1 · 04/09/2021 16:44

ElvisPresleyHadABaby · 04/09/2021 18:36

Rosemary? Then she's got your name, but lots of nickname potential and a nice, relatively uncommon, classic name.

HeronLanyon · 04/09/2021 19:56

I agree with Rosemary. After Catherine that was the name which sprang to mind. Hope all is going well op.
