Hi all so I posted a while ago looking for a baby name for dd as there was nothing that really stuck out. Now She's here 🤦‍♀️
Both myself and my partner like Ava rose but I do worry it might be a bit too common, opinions?
I also quite like MIla rose or even Isla rose.

Ava and Jessica are both lovely. All the Ava’s I know are school age now so you may be fine if you’re worried about popularity
FWIW my DD rejected our first choice and we ended up going with a name that was acceptable to her (it suits her so she was right!)

I don't have an attachment to the name rose no it's just a short pretty name that matches most first names. I actually have more of an attachment to the name Marie as that's my name and I wanted to call her after me as ds has my dps middle name. However I had my mind up a while ago about Ava and then when I suggested Ava Marie I got a lot of people point out that it reads Ave Maria so then it put me off🤦‍♀️ so I gravitated towards rose

Ava is lovely - Eva / Eve would be less popular?

My DS chose his younger sister’s name (from our list, he originally wanted to call her Bob) and I’ve always thought that’s quite a special connection between them.

I should add my first choice for my DD (now 15) was Ava (Ava Violet) but the only reason I didn't use it was I didn't like the way my mil would have pronounced
it (Av-ah not Av-uh) - which I think was overthinking it at the time!
We went with Esme in the end! (which has its own issues with pronunciation!)

Stick with Ava Rose. She looks like an Ava and that's the name you clearly like. No-one ever used a middle name anyway. And for what it's worth yes Rose might be a popular middle name but it's because it's pretty and lovely and goes with a lot of things and it's also been popular for many years so won't date or age. You could flip it round if you really wanted to do Rose Ava, or even Ava Rosie...?

I regret not using the name my eldest DD choose for my younger DD, now their older so my vote is Jessica Marie, sentimental and less common.
