Hi all so I posted a while ago looking for a baby name for dd as there was nothing that really stuck out. Now She's here 🤦‍♀️
Both myself and my partner like Ava rose but I do worry it might be a bit too common, opinions?
I also quite like MIla rose or even Isla rose.
Pic attached who do I look like?

I think, when you have found the right name, you know.

What about Lucy? Lucy Marie or Lucy Rose
or Alexandra?
Julia? Julia Marie or Julia Rose
or Maria?
Or Mary? Sweet, underused name

Noshowwithoutpunch · 03/09/2021 11:06

My first thought on looking at your beautiful daughter was Heidi Rose.

daisypond · 03/09/2021 11:09

If you want to fit your name in but can’t use Marie, why not use Rosemary or Marianne? Ava Rosemary. Ava Marianne. I’m a fan of a longer middle name. Otherwise it can be a bit nothingy.

banoffeee · 03/09/2021 11:11

Ava and Isla very common- both have consistently been in the top 5 baby names for a few years. Rose and May/Mae seem to be extremely popular middle names nowadays- sort of like the ‘Louise’ of my generation where it feels 90% of women my age share my middle name!
I do know of several baby Ava and Isla Roses.
That said, they are gorgeous names so I can understand why they are so popular.

What about Rose as a first name with nickname Rosie?

Theworldisfullofgs · 03/09/2021 11:19

I think she looks like a Louisa. I'm not sure why...

Congratulations, she's beautiful.

cactijones · 03/09/2021 11:24

She looks like an Ava to me.
I wouldn't worry about middle name popularity

cactijones · 03/09/2021 11:26

Also I've just seen your partner thinks it's big headed of you fo name her Marie after yourself, there was a podcast called baby name envy that brings this up. When a baby is named after the father no one thinks it's big headed or even thinks twice but when it's the woman, whose carried them for 9 months and pushed them out want to do it all of a sudden ifs big headed! I'd just it just for that reason you've worked hard for that!

What about just Rose on it's own? That's not a common first name.

Balonzette · 03/09/2021 13:00

Oh I LOVE these threads! She's beautiful! To me she looks like a Rosa. She's definitely not Paris x

Balonzette · 03/09/2021 13:02

Rosa Marie 😍😍😍😍😍

mlj123 · 03/09/2021 13:19

How about Ava rose-Marie surname so rose Marie is a double barrel middle name? That could be interesting I quite like that?

OP posts:
TabithaTiger · 03/09/2021 13:29

I like Jessica, you don't hear it so often nowadays. There seems to be so many Eva's/Ava's, etc.

A few more suggestions to throw into the mix...

Charlotte
Hannah
Victoria
Eloise
Chloe
Annie
Zoe

I prefer Marie for a middle name. Rose is today's equivalent of Louise, it's pretty but a bit meh.

RickOShay · 03/09/2021 13:49

I like Ava Rose-Marie.
Lovely.

mlj123 · 03/09/2021 14:17

@RickOShay

I like Ava Rose-Marie. Lovely.
Thanks so do I😁

Ava Rosemarie is nice, I think a long middle name balances out a short first name. Ava Rosalind is nice too but doesn't include Marie.

I can't believe your DH had the nerve to suggest it was big headed of you to give your DD your name as a middle name when he gave your DS his name as a middle name!

If you have any more DDs keep suggesting Marie related middle names like Jessica Mary or Charlotte Maria Grin

Wowthatsalot · 03/09/2021 15:07

There are SO many Ava/Eva/Isla around now
And 50% of girls seem to have Rose as a middle name.

Jessica is classic.

What about Georgia?
Katherine /Kate is good.
Susannah?
Marina?

CrasterKipper · 03/09/2021 15:11

Ava Rose-Marie is really nice.

I like Rose as a first name too. Jessica and Isla are lovely but very popular.

JuneOsborne · 03/09/2021 15:16

What about Rosemary?

She is totally adorable and would suit Ava!

Just gonna throw out a couple of suggestions...

Georgia
Loveday
Aveline
Marnie

AngelDelightUk · 03/09/2021 16:05

I know a couple of Ava Rose. Jessica is lovely though

Paris is just awful

IVflytrap · 03/09/2021 16:10

Ava Rose Marie (no hyphen)
Or
Ava Rosemarie as a pp suggested (and I think is lovely).

Traditionally, for given names, you only hyphenate first names not middle names.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 03/09/2021 16:13

Rosemary, nn Rosie?

I like Jessica too.

Congratulations OP, what a little squishy! Flowers

RickOShay · 03/09/2021 16:18

Ava Marie Rose also lovely.
