Surname and middle name are both one syllable so we want at least a two syllable name (middle name will be John).

Names I love that have been vetoed:

Raphael / Rafael nn Rafi (my absolute favorite but DW thinks it’s pretentious)

Jago (too ‘nicknamey’)

Rohan (Too ‘wet’)

Milo (Nestle milk)

Oscar (she had a fish called Oscar)

Tobias nn Toby (just doesn’t like it)

Names she likes that I don’t:

Rhodri
Ezra
Jonah
Sebastian

We can’t use a name beginning with El as it would be too matchy matchy with our DD which is a shame as we both like Elijah, Elliot and Ellis

Other names we both like but can’t use as they already belong to close friends or cousins are Arlo, Issac, Theo and Reuben

There is one name neither of us dislike (Jacob) but neither of us love it either. Please wise Mumsnetters there must be a name we haven't thought of yet??!

Micah is really lovely but makes me think of the cheesy singer.

I haven't heard it pronounced My-cah before and much prefer it that way. Adding to our shortlist.

Is he here yet? If so we must have a pic before we can possibly comment on names 😂

My friend is pregnant and her and her DH used an app called ‘kinder’ where it suggests names and you swipe so any that you don’t agree on are automatically vetoed... might help you pick?

FizzyGreenWater · 05/11/2019 09:39

Kester or Christopher nn Kit

Ferdinand

Your R names almost meet in the middle. Have you considered Rupert, Ranald.

I also think Arlo is a bit fashiony and insubstantial. How about:

Osian
Otis
Malachi
Rory

Scarlett555 · 05/11/2019 09:58

Dominic is a great one! However... the last boyfriend I had before coming out as gay was Dominic. Even though we split up years ago and he's married with kids now we're still in the same friendship group. It would just be too weird. Shame.
