Quincy. always makes me think of the daytime tv detective and I end up trying not to laugh.

BonBonVoyage · 25/01/2019 21:48

Nuala is an Irish name. A bit grannyish though. So I suppose although it's very well known (in Ireland) you'd never meet a baby Nuala.

Deadringer · 25/01/2019 21:49

Moss. Maybe it's not unusual but he is the only one I have heard of.

Nameenthusiast · 25/01/2019 21:51

Oh that’s interesting about Nuala. I think it’s really pretty, shame it’s not more popular in Ireland.

Well known but unusual to see a toddler Craig.

Owlettele · 25/01/2019 21:52

Nuala is short for Fionnuala and I know two (both in their late 20s). Lovely name.

Deacon is probably the most unusual boy's name I've come across, and I met a little girl called something like Orastelle a couple of months ago.

Don't tell me Nuala is making a comeback? I bet they all come out of the womb wearing a cardigan and saying the rosary. Scowling at the world.

In Ireland calling a child Bran would be like calling them Rover. It's the dogs name, even if dogs aren't given that name anymore.

I know a kid called Moss. And a couple of old lads called Moss too.

The names that always stop me in my tracks are character names. Bilbo! Who the hell calls their kid Bilbo?!

mossyroundhill · 25/01/2019 22:11

A baby called Fanta??
