Theano
Bo

And a Jennifer which I think is lovely.

On another note my DD is an Emma and we once got the comment 'how unusual' from the mum of a Nevaeh at baby sensory class. Made me Grin

ChesterGreySideboard · 26/01/2019 09:34

Bran, although also a Welsh name, is another Game of Thrones name isn’t it!

ememem84 · 26/01/2019 09:35

Ds is at nursery with a ziggy and a zebedee. Such cute kids.

BirthdayKake · 26/01/2019 09:35

Jakobi

In their accent, sort of pronounced "Jair-kerby"

princesspeppax · 26/01/2019 09:39

Ziggy and Kandy

StarkintheSouth · 26/01/2019 09:40

Maccabee is one i observed recently!

Ploppymoodypants · 26/01/2019 09:41

Ha my children have unusual names and I am now skilled and managing peoples responses when I tell them (mostly ladies over 60).

No child or teenager has ever batted an eye lid at them and always manage to prounounce them correctly from being told only once.

I think that the days when the same 10 names were used each era has passed.

CarolDanvers · 26/01/2019 09:42

Humphrey. I wanted to laugh. I couldn’t believe anyone would call their lovely little baby such an old mans name.

BonBonVoyage · 26/01/2019 09:42

Moss - I know a Mossy or two (in their 30s).
Would it be a nickname for Thomas?

Mesosleepy · 26/01/2019 10:29

I forgot a few.
Woody, Gwyneth, Buster, Rufus and Paisley

TaMereAPoilDevantPrisu · 26/01/2019 10:31

Fanta is a common West African name.

Looneytune253 · 26/01/2019 10:37

Quincy

LinoleumBlownapart · 26/01/2019 10:48

I met a Brian, I thought that was quite an unusual choice for a modern child.

Some of the names mentioned here are common in parts of London.

My children went to school with siblings Honey-Bee and Dash. Their parents were a bit needy.

pandoraphile · 26/01/2019 10:50

Ladies and gentleman, I give you.....Pebble. A girl. Named because her mother had once been madly in love with a man named Stone. He is not her father.

Bamchic · 26/01/2019 10:53

A little boy called Sonshine (yes spelled like that)
And a sibset called Atticus and Scout

Really adorable names for really adorable kids.

Plus, unlike my children they won’t be the seven hundredth Oscar or Martha in their class. 😂

AngieBolen · 26/01/2019 10:53

I work in a school, so lots of these don't seem unusual to me any way we have Goldie, Kitten, Gilbert, Princess, Minnie & Calvin in nursery....but Rodger? Now that's unusual!

Bamchic · 26/01/2019 10:54

@pandoraphile I taught a pre teeb teen pebbles a few years ago, thought it was pretty cute

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/01/2019 11:03

Not baby group but i have met

Nirvana
JayZee
Meadow
Decoda
Moo
Breeze

BrutusMcDogface · 26/01/2019 11:23

I love Meadow! Think it sounds lovely. Also love Rufus. Dp said no to that.

I did have a contribution but it’s totally escaped me. Sleep deprivation.

Ploppymoodypants · 26/01/2019 11:29

See I know several Meadows of various ages and Rufus is a top 20 baby name where I am.

I do know a Saturn who is very cool.

Also Atticus is not that unusual here. Only know one other scout. But what a cool name.

Aventurine · 26/01/2019 11:33

Judge

TroysMammy · 26/01/2019 11:33

Bran means Raven in Welsh. In Welsh legend Bran the Blessed was the son of the god Llyr. I know a baby Bran.

tammytoby · 26/01/2019 11:45

Humphrey. I wanted to laugh. I couldn’t believe anyone would call their lovely little baby such an old mans name.

But all the old Humphreys were once cute little babies!

Ploppymoodypants · 26/01/2019 12:23

Exactly. In the 1970’s and 80’s there must have been loads of cute little babies called Paul, Gary or Dave!!! 😁

lakehouse · 26/01/2019 12:32

@starshollow1 would you count winter as unusual? I have a thread asking for opinions on it running atm. Are you not keen/ would think it was a weird name?
