ANOTHER baby names thread - DH says he will abide by majority view

DH and I both have our fav names chosen. We like each other's choices but like our own more. We cannot decide whose choice to go with. If there is a clear majority for one of the names below DH says we should go with the majority.

So which do you prefer:

For a girl:
Anna
Matilda

For a boy:
Reuben
Samuel

Anna and Samuel get my votes.

Matilda and Reuben both a bit middle-class London for me sorry!

chankins · 18/01/2008 22:02

matilda and samuel

fairygirl3 · 18/01/2008 22:20

anna & reuben get my vote but as said before i do like tilly. The rest of the family wanted samuel for my youngest ds2 but its so popular 3 in my ds1 class ) he will just be sam (surname) also i kept hearing about peoples dogs called sam.tbh its a difficult choice to make with all the hormones ,i would leave it a few days after the birth to make decision, its so emotional that a name my dh had hated for 9 month he decided to change his mind in theatre as soon as ds2 was born & agree to,but i couldnt be a total cow & take advantage of situation so said "no lets think about it" so he was "baby" for 10 days ,which other may of found odd but gave us a chance as a family to pick the name he suited.

Matilda and rueben.

TellusMater · 18/01/2008 22:22

Anna

Hmmm.

Reuben I think, just because there are so many Samuels...

hellish · 18/01/2008 22:23

All nice names, prefer Rueben to Samuel though, I know a Ruben (no e) and he is often called Ruby, never thought of Ben.

Tigerschick · 18/01/2008 22:23

Anna
Samuel
Just my VHO

LynetteScavo · 18/01/2008 22:25

I love both Anna and Matilda

I would have said Samuel hands down, but I know the most gorgous, amazing boy called Reuben.

I've known 3 Reuben's and they have all been very calm, caring, talented people.

sweetkitty · 18/01/2008 22:26

Matilda and Samuel

(If DB3 is a girl I woould love Matilda but DP won't let me )

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 18/01/2008 22:28

Anna
Reuben

BITCAT · 18/01/2008 22:30

samuel and anna

Aero · 18/01/2008 22:31

All nams nice, but my preferences are Anna and Reuben (strangely the names of the children of two good friends).

cece · 18/01/2008 22:33

Anna and Samuel

auntyspan · 18/01/2008 22:33

Anna (although biased, 'tis my name too)

Samuel (although relatively common, lots of lovely shortened versions)

HTH X

pinkbubble · 18/01/2008 22:38

Matilda

Rueben

Lovely!!!

FurryFox · 18/01/2008 22:38

Was about to post when noticed thread was started in June. What did you decide in the end? (If you ever see this again? )

Izzybel · 18/01/2008 22:41

Anna and Samuel

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/01/2008 22:43

Matilda, Reuben.

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/01/2008 22:44

Oh yes FF - didn't spot that as only read OP!

pinkbubble · 18/01/2008 23:01

You are awake at this time of night! So does anyone know what she called DC?

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/01/2008 23:03

Who's awake at this time of night?

3andnomore · 20/01/2008 09:43

Anna and Samuel

flameboy · 20/01/2008 09:54

Matilda

Don't really like Samuel. I like Reuban but it reminds me of 'I saw something nasty in the woodshed'. I would choose it over Sam umless your surname is Starkadder.

MuffinMclay · 20/01/2008 09:57

Matilda
Samuel

belgo · 20/01/2008 09:57

I would chose Mathilda and Samual simply because Rueben sounds awful if you can't say your 'r's
