There's really no point in this thread, as just about every name under the sun will come up at some time.

Every name is disliked by someone, somewhere. Some are hideous to my ears, but we're all different.

Welsh names are lovely if you are welsh. Welsh names anglicised are not lovely. If you take names from a different culture or language, they are likely to be mispronounced or to be dated.

Same goes for Irish names.

I don’t hate them, but I find names like Emily (and variations), Libby, Ottilie, Romilly etc twee and cloying.
