Help me find a boys name...

I am going to be really fussy, dismissive for ridiculous reasons and probably sound like an arse on this thread. But I am really stuck. We've had a girls name set for a few months and I am still happy with it. But the boys name.. we keep going off them.

I need help.

I don't want anything common, in both senses of the word.

Our list thus far has been:
Jackson
Deacon
Brodie
Caleb

And I liked them all at first, and now I hate them. I think they sound chavvy. I have a DS with a top 10 name and thankfully he goes by a lesser used NN anyway, but still, I don't want to repeat that. He's one of 4 in his year.

HELP!

I suspect you're having a girl OP! When I was expecting ds I went off each and every girls name I'd ever liked. It all made sense when 20week scan said he was a boy!

Just in case my completely made up unscientific hunch turns out not to be true how about...

Sholto
Malachi
Hector
Inigo
Corey
Caradoc

Baxter? You could say you were inspired by The Apartment.
Dashiell? As in the writer.
Maybe a positive association with a favourite film or writer would help the name stick. (We almost went for Angus as my husband is a big Angus Young fan. Thankfully, I'm way cooler than him so my name won) Grin

I will, if I ever choose one!

I've not read the whole thread but what about Edan - it's an old scottish name. I liked Ed as a nn but not Edward and came across Edan. Didn't use it as we had a girl, but I love it.

therunnawaybride · 20/01/2014 23:18

Oh my word you are stuck!!!
Parker?

therunnawaybride · 21/01/2014 08:08

Carter?
Lewis?

Juno77 · 21/01/2014 08:32

Edan and Parker are girls names (to me).

Lewis is way too popular.

Not keen on carter.

Murray? Blake?

Juno77 · 21/01/2014 10:28

Nope. Blake sounds like flake and Murray is common here.

Caleb is a good name.

petitdonkey · 21/01/2014 11:02

I like Grey - someone suggested Grayson but it does't need to be short for anything. I will list the more unusual/ uncommon names at my son's school…

Hogie
Junah
Jonah
Bluey
Fenton
Alan (don't think it's your taste but whenever I hear it I think how uncommon it is - ditto Andrew!!)
Heston
Indigo (Indy)
Valentine (Val - super cool kid!)
Jago
Preston
Presley
Perry

dobedobedo · 21/01/2014 11:17

Grey is a gorgeous name. But after the 50 shades of grey book, I wouldn't use it!
