Really struggling to come up with a name for DS2 (due in a few weeks)
I like slightly older names, as does DH. But I've got a real thing about people shortening names! DS1 is Harry and there are a few people we know who insist on shortening it to Har it drives me mad! So we're after a similar name for DS2.
Any suggestions welcome Wink

MrsClown, my DP is Ross too and nobody has ever shortened it. He's not Scottish either. I am though, so it went a little way to softening my Granny's reaction to an English boyfriend! I think the popularity of the name suffered due to whiny Ross Geller from Friends, but it's due a comeback.

Adam gets shortened to Ad.. or lengthened to Addy

How about Ray? its old fashioned but due a comeback.. I really like it

or Liam? , Ian? or (really old fashioned) Derek? or Graham? (though I had a childhood friends of those names and used to call them Day and Gray)

Ralph

I sometimes regret not using it myself or at least sneaking it the middle somewhere.

My BF has a little boy called Oscar and I think it's a lovely name. However my 18 month yr old can't pronounce it and calls him Okka and it's very cute and everyone laughs but it's beginning to stick as a nickname. You just can't predict these things.

Seth (old but cool) Archie, Alex, Jack, kai....I always wanted sebastian for a boy (had a girl), but I also loved Seb, so having it shortened wouldn't have bothered me x
