I think I like old fashioned names - anyone care to share what their grandmothers/great-grandmothers were called.

Doris and Gene. I can't see 'Doris' ever making a comeback (but maybe that's because I've heard it used in a derogatory manner).

My lovely Nanna was called Nell - her real name was Mary Ellen but nobody ever used that.

I love old-fashioned names like Florence etc. but I have heard some lately that I think are taking it a bit too far and for me should just never come back into fashion, like Mabel and Myrtle Hmm. Each to their own though!
