I think I like old fashioned names - anyone care to share what their grandmothers/great-grandmothers were called.

Margaret

Mum's side that generation: Barbara, Vera, Nathalie, Lys, Beryl, Jean, Margaret

Dad's side: Irene (Reenie), Elizabeth (Betty), Kathleen, Hazel, Evelyn, Constance (Connie)

All born in the 20s, some still alive

Mary & Myfanwy

Ruby May (she hates her name, and is nearly 100), and Eileen.

Great grandmothers I can remember at this moment. Catherine (Kate) and Genie

Maggie. On her birth certificate, not a nickname. The other one is Kathleen.

Anastasia nn Stasia (pronounced as Stay-sha) (Father's mum - Irish)
Elizabeth (Mother's side - Irish)

My grandmothers are Joyce and Veronica. One great-granny was Louisa. DH is Irish, so predictably both his grannies are Mary!

Lots of Margarets kicking about in our family! 2 brothers both married Margarets and both went on to have sons called Peter! Seriously you couldn't make this up

Dh has Lorna, called Mary, and Rogelia (spanish, pronounced Ro-hel-ee-a).
