Found 'the one' - and it's not Beauden [grin]

Hi everyone,

Well, after a few days of constant name games, me and dh are sorted. Thanks to everyone's help we have decided not to go with Beauden after the BAD reaction on here. Or Indigo or Lyric or Soren. Lots of you still will hate our choices but I think you know when you have decided because you don't care less anymore what others think (in a nice way).

Soooo. our final choices are:

Girl: Sonnet Melody
Boy: Winter Beau Alexander.

See, I still have my Beau in there Grin.

I think these fit in really well with our other dc. The only big problem is that we have an Autumn so it may well sound contrived. But they aren't going to be joined at the hip and will have their own identities.

One last favour!!!

Can anyone suggest a nice third name to go with Sonnet Melody? (Our other three have all got two middle names so I want to do the same).

Was thinking perhaps:

Sonnet Melody Grace
Sonnet Melody Eve
Sonnet Melody Erin

Want a classic name she can fall back on if she hates her other two names.

Anyway, thank you for all your help. I think I can almost leave these boards in peace now Grin

I like Skyler. Good choice.

Miffster · 05/10/2010 21:55

What about Sirius?
And Linnet?

arizonagirl · 05/10/2010 22:25

Miffster, dh thinks Sirius is too like 'serious'. I really like the name and its meaning. Not so keen on Linnet - not bad though. I liked Linden but dh vetoed that too.

skyler/ar is AWFUL. let the slating commence.

idris lovely. jem lovely.

Aitch · 05/10/2010 22:29

tell me you're not in the uk and considering 'all aboard the skylar'..

BelligerentGhoul · 05/10/2010 22:29

I have no intention of slating you - but I don't like Skyler/Skylar at all, sorry. :)

BonzoDooDah · 05/10/2010 23:06

arizona yes I'm in the UK and no I've not heard of Skyler and DH has only heard of it in films. So it is nice and unusual here.
If you want an Arizonan name how about Bryce or Tuscon? Bagdad? Grin

lola0109 · 06/10/2010 00:16

Ooh, i like bryce and i like lark.

Not keen on skylar for boy, love for a girl though.

nooka · 06/10/2010 06:27

Skyler/Skylar seem much more mainstream than your more recent suggestions. I don't think of either of them as being very classy to be honest.

Zephyr is fabulous Grin and I love Sage (perhaps because of the very sexy Sage in the Bold as Love series).

Looking at nature links to Arizona the trouble is that most of the names are more feminine than masculine, eg Yarrow, Mariola, Willow, Sorrel etc

BonzoDooDah · 06/10/2010 09:07

Have to add I think Zephyr is fab - Zeph nn is lovely too.

FellatioNelson · 06/10/2010 10:08

Ooh yes. Am liking Zephyr VERY much. It fits with the other siblings' names as well.

DanceInTheDark · 06/10/2010 11:58

NOt liking Skyler
or cedar

I (bizarrly) had a dream you called him Felix Arizona Hmm

5DollarShake · 06/10/2010 13:01

Another vote for Zephyr. :)

bundlebelly · 06/10/2010 15:07

Zephyr is fab.
I know a Zeff and always loved his name. He's a teenager now. I think the name is cool and creative. Just like him!

Fimbo · 06/10/2010 17:09

Is Arizona off having the baby do you think? Grin

frazzle26 · 06/10/2010 19:49

Your poor children. If I was the registrar I would refuse to register such ridiculous names.

mathanxiety · 06/10/2010 20:06

Skyler is very downmarket, goes in the same category as Tyler, Taylor imo.

I like Zephyr a lot too. And Bryce. It's close enough to Arizona.

arizonagirl · 06/10/2010 20:24

Fimbo - no, I'm still here - just had a crazy day up and down the hospital (complicated case but all good news).

Flippin' typical that all my names get slated and then someone comes along and suggests something completely different and everybody falls off their chair in wonder WinkWink

Not keen on Zephyr - reminds me of Zebedee in the magic roundabout and hard to pronounce. Skyler is still the order of the day - I do agree that it rather boring over in the States but in the UK it is very unusual - that is the only reason I would consider it. Love Sonnet but can't see it on a boy - does everyone agree? Although nn Sonny is nice.

Hey frazzle - take it you don't really care for my names - actually, Frazzle.... hmmm. See potential here. Fraz would be a great nickname.

DanceInTheDark - you made me laugh out loud. How sweet that you dreamt about me - actually not a bad name choice. My mother rang me to tell me she dreamt I had a girl and called her Lotus Blossom. So I take it they are expecting something unusual although my dad is trying to convince me that Ryan is a great name.

Still loving Jem but not for a first name.

Will keep you all updated folks. Any more revelatory dreams - let me know Wink.

CheerfulYank · 06/10/2010 21:02

I like Skyler. I knew a boy named Aspen once, that's nature-y. :)

BonzoDooDah · 06/10/2010 21:18

Not keen on Zephyr?? But that's the one we've all chosen!!! [stamps]

I don't think Skylar is as "natural world" as some of your other children's names but the nn sky definately is.

Ahhhh Have a girl woncha! (What's the latest for her name?)

Glad your appointment went well.

mathanxiety · 06/10/2010 21:47

Breeze?
Blaise?

arizonagirl · 06/10/2010 22:17

mathianxiety - now you're talking. Love those names and we considered both. Thought Breeze had too much potential for teasing! and we got put of Blaise because it means 'to stutter and stammer'. Probably not important mind, better than Cypress with the funeral connotations.

Oh no, will be thinking about Blaise now.

CheerfulYank, we considered too (not sure what page that was on). Again though, the ass at the beginning put us off. But I do agree that they are more connected with nature.

I don't know...I come up with something more bog standard like Skyler and you all moan at me for being too mainstream Shock. There's no pleasing everyone.

BonzoDooDah - a little girl would definitely be Sonnet Melody Rose. And don't ya go doing yer best to put me off. Someone suggested you could use Sonnet for a boy but it seems a bit girly. Nn Sonny nice though. Thoughts.

arizonagirl · 06/10/2010 22:18

Oh blow, serves me right for not reading through. Correct 'of' to 'off' and CheerfulYank - I was referring to the name Aspen. Doh!

FellatioNelson · 06/10/2010 22:43

PMSL at Bonzo's Zephyr paddy. Grin Quite right though - I thought if we all agreed on something, you HAD to have it.

Blaise is great, but as it's you arizona I would recommend spelling it Blaze. It's just madder.

Skyrg · 06/10/2010 22:43

Hang on.. didn't your surname begin with F?
Sonnet Melody Rose F
Smurf! Grin
