Lol at the necklace Whizzz, my dds would love that! (they are at the, er, interesting tastes ages )

I am v. excited - I got some bag handles I ordered the other day, they are LUSH! Plus I got some lining fabric and some wild silk and some wool - lots of bag making coming up!

I have now made one pair of the two pairs of curtains that I have to make. I vow never again to offer to do curtains. I found it incredibly stressful and yet boring at the same time! They look ok but I can only see the faults and I am not particularly happy with them. I would guess that in the end I will be getting about 50p an hour for the time I have put into making them . Ah well, it's all a learning experience - I will know better another time!

dior- I'm not 100% sure about the ribbon.. its not my style but the beads are very pretty and and the colour is fab... oh and lovely swappy things you sent out for the kid swap... I still have to finish mine off...

mistypeaks · 01/08/2008 21:24

shit. kid swap. Not sure I should tackle it tonight.

ranting · 01/08/2008 21:49

Dior, have left you a comment, I (being rather contrary) rather love the ribbon and the colours, although for me to actually wear I'd rather have jade or turquoise.

Oh LK, fantastic, I always think of you as crafty royalty anyway, since I spotted several X stitch kits bearing the legend 'designed by' you once, whilst browsing a crafty supplies site. Don't suppose you can recommend a good little X stitch kit for a dexterous 5 year old?

Now I've got onto Blogger, am off to look at the peg people.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 01/08/2008 22:59

dior - i'm not keen on the new necklace, just not my colours, quite like the ribbon idea But i love the rootbeer set wow

meridian · 02/08/2008 07:44

meridian · 02/08/2008 12:02

vintage-- it lets me acess some but other blogger ones I get a pop up that says "internet explorer cannot open www.whatever blogspot.com .

opertation aborted"

huh?

suzywong · 02/08/2008 12:07

hello arts and craft people
can you answer a question for me please, I don't want to start a thread in case it's a sensitive topic for bereaved mums:

what on earth is doll reborning?
I am taking ds1 to be an origami-geek-on-display at the city craft fair and I notice one of the stalls is a doll reborner, not rebirther but reborner?

What is that? (When it's at home)

meridian · 02/08/2008 12:12

suzy-- creepy as all hell is what they are.. as far as I can tell they are just dolls like newborns... the scare me... issues with creepy dolls as a child... there was a program on tv awhile back with a nutter woman who collects and makes them.. you buy kits and paint them and add hair and clothes etc... I don't really get it...some poeple do carry them around in prams and things... a bit unhinged I think but thats just me...

oh and hello and welcome to our little enclave.

suzywong · 02/08/2008 12:35

that's what I thought
creepy as hell
creepy as feck
and as for the DREADFUL grammar, well that's another issue

hello little enclave
I had a look through my old 90s Rowan knitting books last night. Did people really do Kaffe Fasset pieces in real life?
It's not really ever cold enough for a good collection of woollies here, shame. It's more wet than cold in winter but last year I did do dh a black alpacca 1950s cardigan.

I want to make a cover for my futon like sofa cushion, well it's a carved wooden daybed thing with a big flat foam rectangular cushion and we need a change of cover for reasons of hygiene, but I 'm not sure if I can be arsed measuring it up and fitting in the zip. Hey ho.

So what else do you talk about on here? Any sizzling gossip or dissension or revolution?

vInTaGeVioLeT · 02/08/2008 12:41

hi suzywong - i sure someone must've knitted those Kaffe cardi's but did they actually wear them?

yep meri - i'm getting the same with blogger blardy annoying isn't it? i only want to see if anyone has left me a comment as i have blogged twice and one post is about a really cute giveaway @ grosgrain but it ends really soon.
