not done any crafting today... right now fending off DS' tuna sandwhich from maurading pirate cats. He is beign all cuddly and not wanting to go out or do anything today so its lunch and we havent stepped out the door...

I have to sort out some jewellery for the framing shop for tommorow and I'm in a slight tizzy... also have to print out some sort of temp cards... or description of what the bracelets are made of once I have gone through and decided on some... arghhhh

need to

finish kitchen swap
finish russian doll swap
paint pages
stain more pages ready for painting
order toggles (but thats on hold as I had to order the moo cards and now only have a bit of money left for craft related things)
run around in foul mood CHECK
drink copious amounts of coffee CHECK but I need more

vInTaGeVioLeT · 19/06/2008 12:00

i've only been up for half an hour!
but i'm now designing my russian doll swap!
hope to get it done for weekend as we are off to Majorca at end of the month - yipee!
my dd isn't coming so but happy for the rest of us.

Miaou · 19/06/2008 12:42

Argh, I feel ill. I think I have a virus or something. I did the final fitting for the ballgown this morning, which went ok, except the waist is a little bit big (better than too small though!) so I need to adjust that and sew the hem.

I'm now working on my Kitchen Swap (I've got Driftwood) but I am totally out of ideas - I've got teatowels and I'm doing applique on them, but aside from teacups and cupcakes (which, though appropriate, seem a bit tame), I can't think of what else to do ... teatowels are a pale wedgewood blue ... anyone any suggestions? Would be gratefully received!

Still not sorted wedding pics - dh has put them on the computer but I just can't face transferring the ones I want [pathetic emoticon]

lucykate · 19/06/2008 13:03

miaou, what about vegatables?, i've seen some printed fabric with pea's and carrots on it with little eyes, arms and legs, really cute

OP posts:
Miaou · 19/06/2008 13:05

That had crossed my mind actually ... (at about 3am when I couldn't sleep ) - I think I might go with that!

Will have a think and do some sketching ... !

mistypeaks · 19/06/2008 13:14

A set of spoons in increasing sizes?:-
teaspoon
table spoon
dessert spoon
Wooden spoon
Serving Spoon
Cake spoon (Mahhooooosive!!!)

lucykate · 19/06/2008 13:20

a pale blue would be a nice background for red, you could do tomatoes, peppers, chilli, radish etc

Miaou · 19/06/2008 13:41

mmmmm ... what great ideas you two!!! Lovely

I'm still here you notice though Must get off my bum and do something!

Miaou · 19/06/2008 16:58

Finally got my bum into gear and blogged my wedding pics plus some other things we did whilst away! And have now created a template to do a red pepper design on one of my teatowels. Thanks for the heads up on that one LK! (still quite taken with the utensils idea but decided to do them all on one theme this time!)

Gingermonkey · 19/06/2008 17:25

found you, phew!!!

Meri - congrats on cuteable!!! That's great news.
Dizzy - congrats on being auntie Dizzy, I love the name too.

VV i really want to know what you withdrew....hmmm, did you get some tat in the post?

I have now finished the russian dolls for my swap, just need to mail them out. What else? Oh, I am still slogging away at ginger's quilt, but I've run out of patterned fabrics now, and am waiting on some more to arrive (one day) so I am just sewing black spotty hexs, which is making my eyes go all funny.

Miaou · 19/06/2008 18:32

Oh gingermonkey - I was after some black and white spotty fabric (probably white with black spots, small but not polka dots) - where would be a good place to look, can you tell me? I get really lost looking for fabric on the web.

And thank you for your kind comments on my outfit (and mistypeaks too!) - I don't "do" fashion but I do like to look nice, and was very pleased with the way it turned out. What can I say, it's very "me"!

Dingle · 19/06/2008 19:02

meridian · 20/06/2008 09:20

heeeeelllllllppp.. in panic mode I'm supposed to take some bracelets (5) and some necklaces (5) into the framing gallery in town but I have like two niecklaces as the rest have sold and I have no toggles to make more till next week.. my moo cards don't arrive till next week... and I don't know what to do.. she is a lovely lady and a friend of DH so worried I will let her down by beign a ditz and me..

I thought maybe in would print out a list of what the bracelets are.. the semi-precious gemstones...

oh and I got accepted to spoonflower so not sure what to do about that... I can't sew but I jsut thought it would be cool to have some fabric of soemthing I designed... its $5 for a swatch to be made or $11 for a fat quarter... If I decided on anything I may need the use of somones sewing expertise... sorry.

I may be wittering now..

mistypeaks · 20/06/2008 09:27

Meri - Ref:- The fabric. I don't think any of the sewers on here would have the slightest problem with using a 'designer' fabric!!
With the jewellery take in 5 bracelets and the necklaces you have, and the list of other stuff. Explain to her that your 'packaging' is yet to arrive and subsequent jewellery will be packaged like this - and take in a representation of what the moo cards are like?

misty-- thank you.. its jsut i'm so crap at selling myself... I know i sell myself short most of the time its jsut how I am.. i'm going to give her 12 bracelets and 1 necklace.. and let her choose what she wants for the shop.. I think I will charge a flat rate evened out except for the 1 necklace... as all the materials involved in makin the would come in at around £3 or so per bracelet... I have to have a natter with her about it... will allso bring in some painted pages to get one framed for matt...

now i jsut have to struggle to get the printer out from under the stairs and figure out how to install the disk for printing once i find it.. then find paper... arghhh

miaou--- well done you! I love your little amurigami (sp) they are so cute.. the flapper one is still my favourite though... so much to catch up on.
