Oh Meri and Miaou sorry to hear your day is not going well.

Finishing bits and pieces, work taking up a lot of time at the moment and the dcs broke up last week. So ds (being a true teen) has taken to occupying his bed until 10.30 whilst I've done stuff outdoors with dd. Everything has been a bit rushed as I have to be out of the door at 1.30 but, I did get 1/2 an hour for a blog hop this morning, which was nice to see what everyone's been up to. Must have a look at the ones I didn't get to (and have a nosey at LKs interview).

Got a couple of days off soon and dh has said that he wants to take me away for a dirty kid free weekend, except I have no idea where I want to go! I want somewhere nice with quirky shopping, I don't need a mall style experience, too stressful. Any ideas ladies.

meridian · 25/07/2008 10:28

Miaou- sorry you had a crap night too...

ranting- ohh very of a trip away... DH never takes me anywhere but to orange wednesdays at the cinema, and a slice of pizza at Costco.. die hard romantic I have for a husband...

I have jsut been doing some beading... two bracelets.. and a third re-strung for a lady.. hope its perfect for her now..
the camera battry was dead so its on recharge.. and I cant locate the SD card thing so no pictures of these or the earrings and 2 bracelets I made the other day as well...

bum

I may just take the time to go have a potter around the antique shop round the corner for a bit of inspiration... before I bomb the house.. er clean it.

ranting · 25/07/2008 10:41

Opps sorry Meri!!

It'll be our first weekend away since dd was born, (she's nearly 6), not counting of course the weekend we attended my friends wedding (sans kids), when I forgot to pack clean knickers!

No ideas from your end then

meridian · 25/07/2008 12:35

have jsut blogged a pile of jewellery I have made the last few days and I have a commsion for not one but two necklaces for a lady!

ranting-- it depends on where you want to go... somewhere near the sea side.. or the cotswalds, the peak district.. the lake district.. or a city break...

LOL lucykate, have a nice time!

I have blogged some charity shop treasures today, plus some pics around where I live.

Whizzz · 26/07/2008 16:10

I can't bead at the mo so I actually got out my pencils & did a sketch! I am pretty useless really BUT it was very relaxing sitting in the garden & it did make me feel a bit arty! I don't think it would win any prizes though!

Miaou - I have to have a jeans bag - it's great !

Miaou · 26/07/2008 21:07

Glad you like it Whizzz! I will be making more of these soon

meridian · 27/07/2008 08:01

miaou- great charity shop finds... there is never anything in the shops round here... I still have my eye on a nackered green painted chair in the antique shop on the corner... I may treat myself when I move... if there is a space for it... we have decided to get rid of DS' play house and get him a shed when we move... a playshed.. but realyl jsut a basic shed that I want to paint bright colours on the inside and put all his crap in....

no pictures or proper crafting but I did take my sketch book on a picnic yesterday and did a few sketches which was fun. I haven;t done that for ages, normally I just scribble quick doodles in my notebook and thats that..

justkeepswimming · 27/07/2008 21:08

not much crafting going on here, too hot!

my brother just announced his engagement tho so will have to get busy making a card for them
(about time too!)

have been searching charity shops for books re card-making for ideas no luck yet tho...may try library next week.

lucykate · 28/07/2008 08:25

it's too hot for anything. we spent yesterday in the garden with all our neighbours, we took fence panels out and had a bbq, that lasted from 10am until 8pm, it stated raining at 7 but we stayed outside and danced on the grass and got wet, dd thought it was really funny!

dh is off to london this afternoon for official presidential duties!, so am going to do a bit of sorting out then may sit outside and do some embroidery. just want to make the most of this nice weather as it's not likely to last is it?!

I'm trying to get the kiddie swap thing finished. I have as ever had an idea better than my talents!!!
Girl's playhouse was delivered this morning. Yay. except they want it up NOW and they can't until DH is home to put it together (I wish I was bigger so I could do it, but my puny arm span won't be able to hold it together).
Finding it hard today. Hot. And dd1 can open the stairgate and today has discovered how to open the front door!!! No peace for me now, I must be ever vigilant for escaping children

meridian · 28/07/2008 13:26

blogged a sketch I have been working on.. and thats about it for now.. I made a pendant this morning, but its a gift for a friend so cant blog it till I give it to her.

Dingle · 28/07/2008 16:15

Had A QUICK BLOG HOP TO SEE WHAT YOU ARE ALL UP TO (oops sorry!) I haven't done much at all today....got off to a REALLY bad start when DD decided to cut through the wire of DS's DS lite charger!!! Luckily enough it wasn't plugged in!!

I have told DS yet again that he must lock his bedroom door, DD thought she was just practising her fine motor skills! She was very apologetic but has no understanding of how dangerous the situation could have been!

I have blogged a couple of Design Team card from a brand new range due to be released this week...and then I blooged of a competition win too!!!

My blog!

I would love your honest opinion on the new stamp range images. That way I can feed back any comments to the suppiler! Thank you.

meridian · 28/07/2008 16:32

dingle-- the cards are lovely... the new stamps are great.. I like them alot better than the mouthless ones!

Well, I have finished two ring cushions ready to take to the bridal shop tomorrow (I have a meeting with the owner to see if she would like to stock my things and take commissions). I also have some sketches to show her of things I could make up. Am quite excited but a little nervous! I don't know what to wear either. My style is quite hippy-ish but I don't want to look as if I don't have the first clue about style, since I am purportedly making stylish things! I need to have a think (particularly with regard to what is clean/ironed ).

Please wish me luck!

vInTaGeVioLeT · 29/07/2008 00:11

good luck

justkeepswimming · 29/07/2008 07:13

good luck

oh i agree with Dior re 'Japanese'-ness of the cartoons, tho the cards are still lovely of course

making an engagment card for my brother - hooray at last!

not actually up too early today, hooray again!

meridian · 29/07/2008 07:51

miaou- good luck!

the term is manga for the japanese style cartoons

off to Twycross zoo this morning... so no crafting, and I babysat last night so no crafting again... I brought my sketch book but watched "V for Vendetta" on DVD instead...

mistypeaks · 29/07/2008 08:11

Dingle - I really like the new stamps, but then I like Manga!! I think they're going to be good for people who don't want 'cute' cards.
Miaou - Good Luck. I can't help you re style as I have none!!!
