whoops - could the worsening ezcema be down to dd's suncream? i've changed ds's to the green people products and it has made a huge difference to his skin - if you email them a query they'll send you out a free sample and a catalogue - it's a little more money but it's lovely stuff - also it could be an allergy to the sun or strawberries???

lucykate poor you - i sat on an ants nest yesterday and can wholly symaphise the little ba*%@#rds were running all over me and at least one bit me

Miaou · 21/07/2008 11:37

Oh God lk what a mare

As you say, thank god you did take the floor up to see, otherwise it could have developed into a much bigger problem - however an unusable kitchen and a lot of work to do is no fun

I'd come and give you a hand (or at least come round with a cooked meal for you!) if I could!

Well yesterday we watched Gone with the Wind, which I have never seen before - quite a feat considering it was four hours on a Sunday afternoon with four children around ... they were brilliant though and dh was great at amusing ds1 when he got fed up so that I could watch. My hearing isn't brilliant and the sound quality was poor but I followed the gist of it and really enjoyed it. Then in the evening we watched the Batman film! So I got relatively little crafting done, just finished making my yoyos into a small bag, which I am going to line and add bamboo handles to, I think.

Miaou · 21/07/2008 11:39

Oh, and I have been at the dentist this morning to have a crown fitted and the local anaesthetic has affected my eyesight so I won't be doing much today either!!

dior, why don't you attach what you have made to a piece of ribbon, as a header bit iyswim?

whoops, meant to say earlier, what a shame about the dress

Gingermonkey · 21/07/2008 19:49

where've I been? I lost the bloody thread then!!!

Hello new folk!

LK - how's the ants?

JG - you're most welcome

I have blogged a rather spesh tea cosy JG made for me.

lucykate · 21/07/2008 20:05

hi gm, hopefully the ants are gone, we've sprayed everywhere, still finding the odd one, and a few dead ones too. the next thing now is to find out more about the damp and put that right. doesn't look like i'm going to get much crafting done atm, dd finishes school tomorrow, i have a very important present for my niece on the go which i'm still no closer to finishing and it's already late.

think i may prioritise the present, i can actually photograph it as i go for another tutorial, which would at least mean the blog has something new otherwise i fear it will become very neglected over the summer!

I know the feeling! DD has gone to spain for 12 days, but when she gets back I think the blog (and all crafting) will go out the window!

whoopsididitagain · 21/07/2008 20:36

whoops, I get eczema and have now stopped using anything with any chemicals in at all. Faith in nature is a good and pretty reasonably priced range that you'll find in bigger health food shops, but the supermarkets do ranges too. I use green people, they are fab. My eczema is a lot better for avoiding dairy (I had food intolerence testing).

jeangenie · 22/07/2008 09:43

I think I need food intolerance testing - I get awful headaches - maybe I just need to drink more water...but then how would I fit the tea in???

I had a lovely email this morning to say I've been featured on the crafty crow. I emailed her a while ago and it's coem good. Miaou I also sent her a link to your rabbit from an old tshirt tutorial so hopefully you'll be featured too sometime.

I've mentioned it in my blog post this morning - along with a long ramble about my art club and my first ever tutorial, for a cake stand of all things...

all very random as I am really just putting off getting organised to go on hols tomorrow

DH has only invited some friends to stay for a week while we are away so I have to clean and tidy house as well as pack tonight, I am working all day and house is a major TIP

aaarrrghh

vInTaGeVioLeT · 22/07/2008 10:16

errrr - hate to say it JeanGenie but maybe it IS the tea that gives you a headache

vV runs and hides >>>>>>>>
great cake stand
great crafty party too {was it fun to do?}

jeangenie · 22/07/2008 10:28

aaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh! you cannot say that VV. It is against the law of nature and all that is holy and good. But you are probably (weep, weep) right...

thanks for the cake stand lurve

the party was great fun actually, as was spending the cash in my pocket afterwards I'd do another in a flash. However next time I will need to have insurance and all that jazz - this was for another mum at school, I know her quite well and was really doing her a favour.

For 17 kids you really need acouple of helpers though, or parents who will muck in. The guys I did it with were great.

I am enjoying all this art stuff with kids so much I really think I may need to start taking it seriously sometime...or would that ruin the enjoyment I wonder...

ranting · 22/07/2008 10:31

Oh no, no, no, tea is a beauty elixir, it cures all lifes ills!! I tell myself this as I sup my 3rd cup of the day. A proper cup of tea is sheer heaven.

jeangenie · 22/07/2008 10:43

thank you Ms Ranting...JG signs up for the hugely expensive no doubt food intolerance test again

Dingle · 22/07/2008 10:51

Oh goodness, I cannot keep up with you all. (your crafting or you chat!) I feel a bit lost here at the moment, too much going on I cannot keep track of you all!

My haead is filled with loads of .....er...well.....STUFF, crafting, Down Syndrome issues, schooling, house, work...

I desperately need to have some sort of order in my little life to stop me from feeling I am living on a sinking ship. Like a mad woman I made up my Crafty "to do" list yesterday and now I am starting to panic. Especially as I have the children off from Thursday, I have my NVQ still ongoing and DDs Disability Living Allowance forms to complete !(and they are so, so depressing- looking at your child in such a negative way breaks my heart!)

Anyway here's my list!

4 more Thank you cards-teachers
1 wedding card
1 40th card-mens
1 christening card
1 70th card
1 civil partnership card ( I haven't a clue what to do for that order!)
4 Design Team cards (minimum)
1 thank you card
1 birthday card -friend
1 40th card-ladies
1 mens bithday BIL
11th Anniversary card (our anniversary!)
1 Birthday Club card
MILs birthday card
DS 9th Birthday card.

I'd best get off the PC and get crafting! Kick needed please!

jeangenie · 22/07/2008 10:56

oh Dingle - BIG HUG!!!

fill in those forms as quick as you can and then do something more positive (like some crafting )

Dingle · 22/07/2008 12:43

Thank you but I MUST get a bit up to date with a few cards before I can even attempt the dreaded forms!

I was in the middle of making a few of the teachers cards when Mr Postie arrived with the blog candy I won!!

I so want to just play!

jeangenie · 22/07/2008 13:27

awh, well I hope you get a chance to play with them soon, it sounds like you deserve it VERY VERY much

take care

Gingermonkey · 22/07/2008 15:22

OI!!! tea is not headache inducing, you daft old bint, tea is indeed the elixr of life. Now shoo, off you go, play with your buttons. (GM mumbles and tuts about the indignity of it all)

I think I paid about £40...might have been £50 for intolerence testing. So London prices, you are looking at about £1500? That's a very reasonable price, probably more if you were looking at somewhere in Chelsea. Of course, you could get it done in ireland, where it'd be about half a potato and 20p.....

Dingle - I can't cope looking at your list, it's making me weep.

vInTaGeVioLeT · 22/07/2008 15:43

well perhaps "karma" has happened to me - got back from supermarket to find only 2 tea-bags left - arrrgggghhhh.
i'll have to go to the blardy shops again now
