puppydavies- welcome to the thread! they are all a really friendly bunch here.. with all diffrent crafting abilities and obsessions... there used to be a thread listing all our diffrent blogs/etsy shops and various crafty details, I have no idea where it is though... I shall go have a mooch over to your blog then... ohh yyou have done the spoonflower thing.. will read about that I'm ever so curious I wan't to design my own fabric.. though I have no sewing skills whatso ever.. I just want to draw/design/illustrate...

my blog if you are intrested.. I'm sure all the others will post thiers so you can read up on everyone elses "journals."..

mistypeaks · 27/06/2008 12:23

bloody hell puppy, just looked at your blog. You are a bit clever. Love the apron and the birthday bag. Will browse in more depth soon.
I am very much feeling myself to be the poor relation on this site. I have nowhere near the talents of anyone else . So I either a) give up. Or b) practice more. . . .

meridian · 27/06/2008 12:34

misty- don't feel .. I think everyone is diffrent on here and thank goodness for that... I have no formal training aside from art class... cant sew at all... I jsut like to paint and play with beads... I only started selling stuff to get rid of it to buy more.... I'm totally in awe of anyone who can sew.. or knit a pattern for that matter... my knitting is quite laughable.. i can make a scarf or a java jacket/cup warmer thingamagig.... I think alot of this is to know there are like minded people out there that share an intrest and that you can learn from.. I know I have learned alot from the others on here...

puppydavies · 27/06/2008 12:46

don't be down misty. if i'd known about craft blogs when i started i think i would have given up straight away from sheer intimidation - i still feel like that now. if you want cheering up go back in my archives a couple of years, or search the blog for "crochet crime", my first attempts at everything were rubbish :D but being part of supportive communities helped me past the first hiccups and i just kept plugging away. now i can actually make stuff to give away without cringing

jeangenie · 27/06/2008 15:49

YO PuppyDavies! Aren't you the woman who dressed me when I was in a pit of sartorial despair 6 months or so ago??? (If not ignore my insane ranting )

In either case Welcome. I've had a quick gander at your blog - brilliant. I love your header image - I want to know how to do that!

I've just updated my blog with a report from last weekends wemakelondon show...'twas fun

Ranting et al - are we still on for K'n'S ally pally? what dates is it?

Welcome Puppydavies. I've had a brief look at your blog and its full of great stuff.

I sew and this is my blog

justkeepswimming · 27/06/2008 20:57

welcome puppydavies

i am def the least talented on here, i can't sew for toffee
buttons are a challenge

anyway, latest card here i hope...

(how much is a cheat to cut out a pic from a magazine to use on a card? i really struggled to find a new baby thing in my box of bits but this pic seemed perfect. sorry to all 'true' crafters who make things from scratch )

i love all your blogs and love reading them/looking at the pics but i really do spend enough time on the net already and a blog would just tip my dh over the edge, lol!

right, must catch up with other threads, byee

lucykate · 27/06/2008 21:10

hello puppydavies, i like it when new people join in!

Gingermonkey · 27/06/2008 21:19

oooh, puppydavies - I spotted your fabric on flickr and thought 'what a clever lady'. Hello and welcome to the gang!

Gingermonkey · 27/06/2008 21:22

oh yeh, and I have labels and a whole HEAP of stamps (sticks tongue out at dior)
And JG has sewn labels onto her CHILDREN, or at least the smaller one - I saw it, just on her neck, underneath her hair (she didn't know I could see it..but it's there)

ranting · 27/06/2008 21:50

at GM!!

Hello puppydavies, nice to see some more people joining in.

I am struggling for crafting time at the moment, am sorting out household things in the morning and trying to catch up on emails and do the accounts in the morning, working in the afternoon, getting back at 8.30pm and I am finding every weekend booked up at the moment. Think I am trying to overcompensate for the fact that I'm not about much to see the dcs during the week, have taken dd out every weekend so far, taking ds to Camden tomorrow, going to the Museum of childhood with dd next week. I really NEED to get some stuff finished aswell!! Before I drive myself nuts with it all.

Anyhoo, enough of all that, jg, do you think I should start a thread for the K&S show? Under Arts and Crafts or meet ups? Think I'll have to do that and then we'll have numbers and can think about arrangements for buying tickets and stuff.

Gingermonkey · 27/06/2008 23:09

ranting - did you get email from miaou? email me...katyejones at hotmail dot com

jeangenie · 27/06/2008 23:17

yes yes ranting - do start one - will be handy to be able to keep track of that separately

GM - how did you notice...I thought I had it so well covered by the cunning comb over on her neck too

Gingermonkey · 27/06/2008 23:48

nowt gets past me, JG

right off to bed - ranting - email me. Or else.

dizzyday07 · 28/06/2008 00:00

GM - you'll be receiving a parcel in the next day or sew

puppydavies · 28/06/2008 06:57

morning everyone i'm bleary eyed and haven't had a coffee yet but hope i might still almost make sense.

hi genie you were me but thinner, right? i think i spent as much as you did when i went shopping on your behalf my header's just stuff behind holes i interfaced the white fabric over the top so i could just cut out the letter shapes without turning or hemming anything.

not sure if today's fuzzy head was too much wine or too much sewing last night - i was up till midnight playing with my spoonflower fabrics. thanks to my new mad starching skillz the sewing went pretty smoothly but i'm having some wonky fabric issues that i've heard others have had too. they've offered to reprint the fabrics but i'm hoping it won't actually be a problem in the quilt i'm making.

Miaou · 28/06/2008 09:50

Hello puppydavies, welcome (belatedly) from me! Your blog is fab, I love your stuff.

Can you email me on jill at usernamecrafts dot com (but take out username and put in my user name, iyswim!) - I would CAT you but I haven't paid up yet and keep forgetting to do it

lucykate · 28/06/2008 11:36

hi everyone, no crafting planned yet for today, am cooking instead, so far made mixed bean and tomato soup, jelly, and chocolate crispy cakes. although i do have an idea for another blog tutorial, involving jam!

OP posts:
meridian · 28/06/2008 12:07

lk- can I come over to your house? ... jam you say?

Miaou · 28/06/2008 13:26

A tute involving jam ... how intriguing!!

lucykate · 28/06/2008 14:36

yeah, i'm going to rub it all over dh and then...

OP posts:
dizzyday07 · 28/06/2008 14:55

GM has received from me her part of the Kitchen Item Swap. I made her 4 Wonky Log Cabin House mug coasters and a larger one for her teapot.

here is a pic but I'll blog them later

Gingermonkey · 28/06/2008 15:00

and marvellous they are too!!!

Gingermonkey · 28/06/2008 15:01

lk - for a second there I thought you said mixed bean and tomato soup jelly, and I thought 'what's she up to, the weirdo?'

Puppy - can't wait to see your quilt, those fabrics look amazing.
