I made bread today too and as DH has nearly finished it I'll have to make another loaf tomorrow

no crafting today - still reeling from yesterday - 3 hours at dentist to start off the day, then an hour at the osteo undoing all the hunching and bunching that 3 hours in dentist chair with mouth wide open had caused, on top of my normal hunched over ness...got home to hear we'd been invited to a bbq so sent DH and the kids without me thinking it'd be a biggish do and they wouldn't miss me and ran a blissful bath, was only in it 5 mins when he phoned to say OOOPS...we were the only invitees and it was a 40th birthday celebration of a lovely friend (which we didn't realise) and could I hightail it over fast...so teeth still throbbing and dripping hair tied back with a scarf I ran up...tried my best to put a brave face on the fact that there was no way I could eat bbq'd spare ribs (even though they were DELICIOUS) and ended up drinking a lot of wine to numb the multi-faceted pain I was racked with

then the kids woke at 6 this morning (having been out til 11) and proceeded to whinge and whine all day. DH was doing our patio so I had the pleasure of a rotten hangover, still throbbing teeth and two shattered moaners on my own all day long.

Apart from my one and half hours of bliss at my art club where the kids did some brilliant work and I had a lovely time (lots of coffee was involved). That was nice until one of the mums arrived to pick up and told me the art party I am doing for her daughter's birthday in two weeks has increased from 10 to 18 kids

ho hum...all I want to do now is collapse in bed but a friend has just called asking if I can go for a drink and I think she may need to talk so I feel I have to go...

I may well fall asleep at the bar

still, at least I don't look like I am suffering soem kind of weird lip palsy anymore

ps PuppyD yes 'twas me...you saved my bacon...am glad to "see" you again...I thought your header was some fancy dancy photoshop extravaganza...looks great

Oh JG, I feel your pain just reading that!! I proscribe, sitting with feet up for the whole of Sunday.

GM, will email you.

Took ds to Camden today and (predictably) he loved it, I am now the proud owner (!!!) of a pork pie hat wearing ds (snigger). Yes he actually bought a pork pie hat, it's like my lovely boy has been replaced by a (has to be said) much better looking version of Pete Doherty but without the drug habit. People, this is what happens when they grow up and not only that, I had the chance to realise that he makes me feel short (in height, I mean), he truly towers above me now, he is (gasps) 6 ft tall. 6ft tall!!! When did that happen?

Oh Dior, I love that, left you a comment.

I do have a little (well sort of, she's 5) one, ds is 9 years older, think I'm getting sentimental in my old age because I just keep looking at this man boy and thinking 'I can't believe you're my boy'. Doesn't matter too much though, he still gives me a peck on the cheek and says goodnight before he goes up to bed. That's the beauty of having a boy.

Yep, don't mind admitting, he was blardy hard work when he was younger (used to have to walk him like a dog everyday, just so he could burn off excess energy) but, (crosses fingers) he is absolutely lovely now, all the old ladies in our road love him!

Yep, they hit the teens and suddenly it's too much trouble to get out of bed, let alone say good morning.

But you get to do normal grown up things together, like go to art galleries (and listen to their art critique), it's great. And you don't even have to tell them not to touch the 'pretty paintings'.

Ahh, am getting wistful now, ds used to jaw the hind legs off a donkey, the amount of older people who used to say 'My...he's chatty'. Now if one word will express it, one word will do. And all expressed in a very deep monotone. Bless him.

Yes, I do, ds was incredibly lippy and strong willed when he was younger.... am beginning to wonder if the real ds has been kidnapped and replaced by aliens!

Ranting - I too have a young DD (4 in Sept) and an older DS who'll be 15 in a fortnight!!

He is currently 5'10", has a 34" waist and size 11 feet - and his hormones haven't kicked in yet!! He's always been a "sweet" boy and still loves lying all over me on the sofa.

He's a bit "emo" at present but only to the extent of skinny jeans and skull emblazoned hoodies. He's glued to his iPod (even takes it to bed), up late, in bed later and in between always to the PC.

But, he want to be a doctor and invent a drug that will cure ALL the world's diseases (esp. Aids and Cancer)

I wouldn't change him for the world

meridian · 29/06/2008 07:58

morning all.. not doing much today though I did get a bit of painting done yesterday... have blogged one of them but its a bit dark as it was gettign alte when i took the picture and I was supposed to be making tea at the same time... thank god it was only a pizza and garlic bread..

might go try to lighten it up in paintshop... DH says he will take me for a nice breakfast out... at McDonalds then he has a wedding later so might get crafting done then depending on how DS is.
