If you've currently got a project going on during this lockdown, can you post pics of it just for inspiration?! I crochet but I haven't done it in months. I want to start doing it again but I've no idea what? I'm fed up of doing blankets... I have attempted an amigarumi last year but it didn't go great. Blush

Id love to try to make an Amigarumi or tpy but don’t think I have the skills yet

I’ve not being doing it long but have so far only made blankets, hats, scarfs and bowls

Try a bunch of roses thewhoot.com/crochet/crochet-roses-pattern

I'm always doing granny squares, then crochet into a blanket and donate to our local hospice. I know you don't want blankets, but I also have a babies blanket I'm doing for a christening, which is a 'sunflower' pattern of granny squares.

I've also done little flowers, then hot glued onto plain hair clips for my nieces. No pics I'm afraid though.

I'm crocheting hearts for an ICU nurse who is asking people to send pairs of hand-made hearts, to try to give comfort to relatives of people who die alone in hospital.

I make one most evenings. I've just got to sew the ends in on this pair, then I'll pop them in the post with a little bar of chocolate or a packet of Haribo (depending on what my ravening hordes of teenagers have missed in their rampages).

This has been on the go for nearly three years Blush

I have started and finished a baby blanket for a friend and made a few rainbows but the more of them I make, the worse they’re turning out...couldn’t find a pattern so have been winging it and I’m not very good at winging it Grin

Elouera - do you have a pattern for your blanket? My friend suggested I make one for another friend’s birthday but I lose days when I start searching ravelry or Pinterest.

I've been crocheting like mad during lockdown. Made a huge blanket, a jumper and 4 pairs of socks. I'm currently working on a blanket/rug for the floor of our bell tent in the garden, using up all the leftover yarn in my stash.

I'm knitting loads! Just finished a hat and a tea cosy and am currently knitting the second sock of a pair.

I’ve just learnt how to do crochet in the last week or so and am doing a set of placemats and coasters for a friends new home. It’s a very simple make as I’m still learning the ropes.

Plenty of lockdown knitting here. This was my recently finished (very unseasonal!) prototype, taken from 2 different patterns. A second is well on the way.

Beautiful photos! I love love love looking at crochet projects. How are you all getting on with your projects? I'm currently knitting newborn baby socks, half way there.. also I had to get some essentials today from Aldi and ended up going on a yarn spending spree Blush

Progress on this blanket has been slightly hampered but I'm going to have to kick her off - this was meant to be a present for a June birthday and I've still got 25 rows plus border to do..

By the way, the colours blend better in normal light - the camera flash isn't doing it any favours.

Oh, and I did have an amigurumi project on the go as well, but that went on hold to finish the blanket.

I suspect the key in all of this is to put down the wine glass, and then I would achieve a lot more.

I have gone nuts in the last few weeks

I was taught to knit and crochet 40 years ago. Thanks to the internet, I am learning so many new skills. I am most proud of the rabbit in the yellow hat, as I did not have a pattern. I saw the picture on an on-line jigsaw puzzle. Just at the moment, I am having a lot of trouble finding yarn, so I love some mail order recommendations.

Making a Neville Longbottom cardigan for DD, one sleeve down, might be finished for winter

@Rebelwithallthecause I’ve only done a few granny squares but then I found Toft. I’ve done a Emma the rabbit, Cedric the crab (though he’s dismembered atm) and currently ploughing throughHoward the hermit crab and shell. Try it, I’m loving it and am much more of a dressmaker

They look excellent! What did you use to stuff them?

BiddyV · 07/05/2020 19:28

I used the odds and ends of wool from projects past to make little egg covers for boiled eggs. I am not great at working from patterns so it was just trial and error.

They are utterly ridiculous but were a good way to distract me from the world and I think that my niece and nephew will get a kick out of them.

@FLOrenze wow them amigarumi are beautiful! I haven't managed to make one just yet. Are they free style or did you follow a pattern? I am also struggling to buy yarn as I usually buy it from my local yarn shop, but Aldi are doing beautiful yarn at the moment which I'm buying every time I go there Blush, £ Land also doing lovely yarn (mainly DK yarn but they're lovely to use IMO). I've read that some local yarn shops are delivering yarns to peoples houses too. I am quite stocked up but I would've considered it had I known before.

I've made a crochet bagpuss for my daughter (even though she's 22) she loves it! 😂

That Bagpuss is gorgeous, he has just the right look on his face.

runningtogetskinny · 08/05/2020 10:52

@bruffin thanks, it was more squashed on the pattern but I couldn't quite achieve it and didn't want to start unpulling the embroidery, pleased you think it looks okay Smile
