If you've currently got a project going on during this lockdown, can you post pics of it just for inspiration?! I crochet but I haven't done it in months. I want to start doing it again but I've no idea what? I'm fed up of doing blankets... I have attempted an amigarumi last year but it didn't go great. Blush

@CutCopyPastedLikeYou

Can I just say 'WOW' - that piece is incredible!!

And even more so as you had completed it within 6 weeks. Amazing.

CutCopyPastedLikeYou · 21/06/2020 14:59

Thank you daytripper28

I made it for my daughter to take to Uni next year. She likes it too Smile

Rollerbird · 10/07/2020 06:37

I've just finished this bonnet.
I started my knitting during the lockdown and really feel like I am getting neater and more consistent. I've got a pair of bloomers to go to match this now, or I might do a cardigan (all baby size!)

That’s lovely, Rollerbird!

Here are my two current projects. I am doing a pair of Tudor stockings for reenactment. They’re on 2mm needles and are taking forever.
I am also doing the super speedy Kate Davies owls jumper in chunky (Alafosslopi) which is growing extremely fast - I did one for ds in about a week.

I also need to cast on something small to take on holiday though, socks or a hat or some mittens. I want to try something new and interesting so it will be lace or colour work or gansey patterns.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 13/07/2020 18:36

Oops, forgot the picture. One nearly finished stocking (the other has just had its heel turned) and one jumper sleeve.

What lovely things! Thought I'd bump this thread - I'm sure people have been busy crafting during lockdown. I'm making the Seaside Stashbuster blanket from Coastal Crochet. I'm really slow though- normally more of a knitter than a crocheter!

@lazylinguist
I made the Seaside Stashbuster a few weeks ago. I like the constantly changing stitches and colours - stops you getting too bored!

Your colours are much better than mine. Looks gorgeous.

bedjolly · 08/08/2020 10:14

@runningtogetskinny that is absolutely beautiful. I love bagpuss.

Thanks! Mine isn't remotely 'stashbusting' - I bought all the yarn to go with colours in my living room. I normally use only natural fibres, but I went for acrylic for this because it would have been so expensive otherwise and as a pretty inexperienced crocheter I didn't want to spend loads on something that might not turn out great. Kind of wishing I had now though!

margaritasbythesea · 08/08/2020 10:35

I am casting off this fan lace shawl today. Difficult to get a good pic. Made for a friend and my first big project!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 08/08/2020 12:12

Goodness, @margaritabythesea, that shawl is amazing! That sort of thing is beyond me, I’d be going wrong and cursing after 5 minutes.

I’ve just made this bat - vampire variety - since it’ll be going on a Halloween wreath for Gdcs.
Big hairy black spider next!

@bruffin
That cardigan is absolutely fantastic. You must have great patience (and skill obviouslySmile).

margaritasbythesea · 09/08/2020 01:00

Thank you Gettinglikemymother. If you can do that cute bat, ypu could definitely do the shawl. Once you have done the first couple of repeats it is easy. It was daunting for me though as I am new to all this.

Amazing skill and love put into the work on this thread. In awe of the last cardigan posted, for example. As a beginner. I would love it to carry on. I find it all so interesting, but so little opportunity to talk about it irl

bruffin · 09/08/2020 09:30

Thankyou
That cardigan on Raverly is rated average difficulty. Im having more problems with the green squares on the Harry Cardigan
Its bee stiitch and i cant keep track of where i am on it, so keep having to unravel and start again from the beginning,

Bluebellpainting · 09/08/2020 09:37

Oh these are lovely. I enjoy seeing what everyone is making. I’m the only one among my friends who craft so glad to find this thread. At the moment I’m trying to knit a sun as a decoration for my son’s playroom. First time I’ve used double pointed needles. Struggled with the first bit but no seem on a role.

lazylinguist · 10/08/2020 08:12

Oh wow, Bruffin - that Neville Longbottom cardigan is fantastic! We're all big HP fans in this house and I've seen the pattern on Ravelry but thought it looked a bit hard! I rather think that 'average difficulty' for the average Raveller = too hard for me. Tempting though...

bruffin · 10/08/2020 11:16

Its very logical pattern Lazylinguist , although i do think there are somethings an inexperienced knitter would struggle with as some of the instructions are not they are not that clear. I also lined the hood in jersey material rather than knitted which i think looks nicer.

lazylinguist · 10/08/2020 16:34

I've done some Fair Isle knitting, but I found the tension quite tricky. I probably attempted it when I was too much of a beginner though. Perhaps it's time for another try! The jersey lining looks great. I wouldn't have a clue how to do that - my sewing makes my knitting look like genius expert level. Grin

JaceLancs · 11/08/2020 09:18

Just finished jumper for DP
Now trying to teach myself how to crochet (again)
Do long since I’ve done it I’ve forgotten even the basics and I’d got quite proficient
Anyone recommend any easy to follow books or YouTube’s

Nice jumper JaceLancs. Bella Coco on You Tube is popular for crochet, although I didn´t pursue it very far myself.

bruffin · 12/08/2020 18:26

Love the jumper Jacelancs.

BatleyTownswomensGuild · 14/08/2020 15:55
