A few of us fancy doing a few squares for this, so here's a thread!

As blankets need to be 4x6 squares (24 total), the idea is that we arrange ourselves into small groups by geography and do a few each, then meet to put them together and eat cake

I'll link the previous Location thread shortly so folk can add themselves and get organising Thanks

I have done half of one!

VintageEbonyGold · 22/09/2012 15:20

How big is each square meant to be? and roughly how many rounds would that be?

Also what stich is the last round? ie, are the shell rounds finished with a ss/dc round? if that makes sense??

I finished the white one (practise one) with a ss and the tension was abysmal but I had made it 9" x 8" before the ss round.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/09/2012 15:27

Each is meant to be 6" which for me is 8 rounds, and no, no dc round needed, just finish with the shell rounds.

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 22/09/2012 15:36

Are we doing Grannies?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 22/09/2012 15:47

um... I am...

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 22/09/2012 15:57

That's fine - I shall get going.

I've just finished my squares with the wool you sent Pistey so I'll get them in the post on Monday

PurplePidjin · 23/09/2012 11:28

I've done 3 cream grannies with a solid last round, for me in dk on a 4mm hook that's 6 rounds of tc (english terms). Ill do a 4th on the way home then start a mini hug

Thanks PantryBoy, that's marvellous, I love sending bits for crochet, and then seeing what you brilliant folk can make! Tis like magic!

Soz have to check one more time, are we making 4? And I'm posting to Soupy?

SoupDragon · 23/09/2012 13:09

I plan on starting on this later today. I've finished a complete colour section on my rainbow ripple (which still needs about 4 more repeats I think) so will did out my non-rainbow Stylecraft and get going.

MoaningMingeWhingesAgain · 23/09/2012 15:31

Just a suggestion - Stylecraft £1.30 here but postage extra, obvs. Saw it recommended on Rav.

I am knitting some up for something else at present, it is pretty nice. As long as you aren't in Antigua Soupy, you should have mentioned that Wink

SoupDragon · 23/09/2012 16:31

Nothing like Antigua here today.

[bitter]

SoupDragon · 23/09/2012 16:42

Am I meant to be doing a standard style of square?

PurplePidjin · 23/09/2012 18:16

Four plain, essential squares ready to post, I'll pm Soupy when I'm not on the M3 in the pissing rain!

Someone needs to do pretties so mine can show them off Wink

Pistey, 4 each to go to Soupy on completion :)

I could do flowery ones? So far we have cream squares completed? What colour is everyone else doing?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 23/09/2012 18:26

I am doing cream and purple grannies with purple 3D flowers, and I concur, tis bugger all like Antigua today.

VintageEbonyGold · 23/09/2012 18:29

I have done 4 pink, granny (I think) will post pic on profile have no idea what I'm doing so can't do pretty/clever things don't know who I'm sending them too either.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 23/09/2012 18:56

They are absolutely lovely Vintage!

PM SoupDragon and she will give you the address for posting, she is up there ^ twittering on about Antigua.

VintageEbonyGold · 23/09/2012 19:18

aJumpedUpPantryBoy · 23/09/2012 19:20

Oooh, Vintage. I'm very impressed - only a few days ago you were on the verge of giving up.
Your square looks great

VintageEbonyGold · 23/09/2012 19:35

Blush Thankyou Pantry, the other 3 are exactly the same has impressed self and it's great fun

Thanks Pidjin again.

I wish I'd learnt this years ago and made clothes/blankets for my now 17yo ds. He does want knitted socks though Grin and I have ideas for presents too not socks

PurplePidjin · 23/09/2012 19:58

Vintage, I'm having much fun crocheting cardigans for PidjChick #1, estimated to arrive in about 2 months. Ideal way to be lazy on the sofa in pregnancy :o
