ok, I am a very basic knitter. I cant read patterns and can do a basic row, but want to knit a square of edgar (as Im sure lots of others do) so it was suggested on the other thread here that a thread was started for the less confident where we can collate advice and help without feeling a bit dim and where the more advanced can help us out a bit!

I am medium ancient (nearly 40), and have never had a disaster with items I have knitted due to not blocking or doing tension squares! Well apart from what I am knitting now but that is more to do with me using different wool to the one specified, the pattern saying 'knits as aran' so I am using aran but acutally the wool needs to be a bit chunky!

I might block on some things I do though, I do a lovely teddy blanket and have one on order, everything else I just knit it and sew it up! It was easy to block the squares, I just pinned them on the ironing board, but how would you do something bigger?

Pkm make sure you add your fb page to mine and we can share publicity!

purpleknittingmum · 10/04/2011 22:21

Hi, can someone please PM me the address that I need to post knitted squares to please? I'm a bit late, I've been ill, and I want to post tomorrow, but I can't find the address.

purplerabbitofinle · 11/04/2011 06:44

Saggy, you have PM

PKM you have friend request and I'll try and do the rest Smile

purpleknittingmum · 11/04/2011 07:12

Ah! I wondered who you were!! :)

MinnieBar · 11/04/2011 17:00

Right, I've put mine in the post first class today, and a pic is on my profile.

But... and I'm sooo sorry given what I've only just read above, but I didn't sew the ends in Blush Blush Blush. I was in a rush, couldn't remember if we were meant to or not, had a quick go and it looked rubbish (you could see the thread from the front) so I pulled it out again. Many apologies, as if you don't have enough to do already.

I've just had a look on FB and they both look amazing.

purplerabbitofinle · 12/04/2011 07:04

No probs. I'm not planning on getting bigger than 5'x6', anything else will make cushion covers so I'll have a good idea in the next coupld of days.

Keep your fingers crossed work is quiet. I'm still nauseous and my temperature's all over the place! The more crochet time I get the better, from all points of view Grin
