thanks gomummy

The sound of the pup running up the stairs & into our bedroom could have been a dream as i was fast asleep at that stage but the slap on my leg ......... i was wide awake at that stage & had just lay back down to close my eyes .
I lay awake the rest of the night with dh's arms around me listening to him snore ( nothing disrupts dh's sleep) lol

gomummygo · 08/07/2010 16:49

Glad your DH was there anyway, hopefully it will not happen again. I'm sure you must be frieked out though, hard to stop thinking about.

elmofan · 08/07/2010 16:56

Have you ever told anyone of your experiences gomummy ? I wonder how many people have had strange occurrences like these .

gomummygo · 08/07/2010 17:26

Only DH, tbh. But I'm fairly sure that most people have had strange things like that happen at some point in their lives as I have heard a story or two from most people I know at one point or another. And iirc, some of the strangest stories have been from friends/family who strongly do not believe in anything....out of the ordinary....iykwim.

You are not losing your marbles. It seems that things do happen that we can't explain.

elmofan · 08/07/2010 17:54

Will make sure i watch something nice & relaxing before bed tonight

teaandcakeplease · 08/07/2010 18:09

Littlesilver had a thread about noises on her house a while ago here]

Hi all

elmo poor you, this sort of thing freaks me out but i still watch most haunted and scary films lol.

hubbys old dog (god rest her soul) seemed to act like things were there (which they are at his mums house) dh says that usually dogs will keep it at bay, and if your pup got freaked then he was more scared of it.

mil's house is terribly haunted, all kinds of noises and footsteps on the stairs and landing, a feeling of being watched whilst bathing. and after dh's dog passed away, i heard what sounded like her running downstairs, and skidded across the hallway and came to a stop at the front door. i was petrified

elmofan · 08/07/2010 18:27

Thanks tea , just read littlesilvers thread , hearing a baby cry like that would have terrified me tbh my house was built in the mid 80's & my sister used to live on my road & bought her house from new so i have a full history of my house . Nothing sinister has ever happened here yet i have on occasions felt a little bit uneasy at times . Hard to explain .

gomummygo · 08/07/2010 18:34

Your experience at MIL's house sounds quite scary.

elmofan · 08/07/2010 18:55

Tiredmum you MIL's house sounds really scary . Your MIL is very brave to live there , i would have run away screaming . The old saying is that animals can see things that humans cant .
Pup has been fine since that one night last week . Hopefully last night was a one off unexplained mystery never to be repeated . lol

Tiredmumno1 · 08/07/2010 19:47

I have no idea how mil lives with it really, she just says she just gets on with it and ignores it. soooo much braver than me

when ds1 was younger in our last place he used to tell us there was a man called dill there. that was horrid, cos there was always a presence just like there is in this place, i just tell it to leave me alone lol.

you will be carting me off soon

gomummygo · 08/07/2010 20:08

No carting anyone off. You're both welcome to sleep here on the bench if you wish, I will just polish around you!

Thanks gomummy, nothing beats sleeping on a nice clean bench

cheers lady

i have a thread over on chat 'a girl ran in my house today', if any of you fancy putting your two pence in, feel free lol

gomummygo · 08/07/2010 20:48

LOL Tiredmum, it sounds so very sad when you say it like that!

gomummygo · 09/07/2010 00:28

Hope I don't wake you, I'm cleaning early tonight...

...Have to beat DH at a crazy trivia game we play shortly. I think perhaps he has only challenged me as I would not stop reading to him from my book last night even though he was trying to read his own, lol! Anyway, wish me luck, I must defend my title.

CheerfulYank · 09/07/2010 01:20

Good luck Gomummy! I love trivia too, of course, probably due to our shared DNA strand. DH hates when I read to him...I used to carry books in DS' diaper bag and then as soon as we were locked in the car for the five hour trip to see my parents I'd whip it out.

gomummygo · 09/07/2010 02:03

Cheerful, I always have at least one in there, lol! Poor DH is usually trying to read his own book and just looks up over his glasses and gives me the look.

Not surprised that you love trivia too, given our DNA, but it is rare for me to come across someone who does! I have converted DH, he thought it would be boring but had never tried it, and he is a natural!

He has retrieved his snacks so I am off, and so far I am winning!

Tiredmumno1 · 09/07/2010 10:57

Whoop whoop, i hope you won gomummy

wow you didnt wake me you must have been polishing quietly, and doesnt it look sparkly clean

its the weekend, its time to party!!!

TheLadyEvenstar · 09/07/2010 11:37

ladies i need your help

I sold a buggy on another forum. woman got it for half what i wanted and collected it in person. it was in great condition hardly and wear on wheels etc. anyway she left mine havng collected it and 2days later messaged me to say it was damaged. i asked for photos. and have put mine and hers into the same piccy.

When i compared the 2 in her photo the wheels are closer together than in mine...

mine on left of image

wwyd?

elmofan · 09/07/2010 12:06

wow - bench was very comfy , thank you gomummy i will make lunch today ...... so ready & waiting to take your orders

TLE that does not look like the same buggy IMO

teaandcakeplease · 09/07/2010 12:06

Did you state no refunds and that they needed to check they were satisfied when they collected it?

What are the rules on that forum sale wise?

Personally it looks like it isn't open properely but not broken. Could you resolve it face to face do you think, see if it really is broken?

Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
