AIBU Books Game Part Seven

Hi all, here we are again ...

As always, everyone welcome to pile in with AIBU book synopses, as long as you bring ice cream or something equally tempting for when we're stuck.

To continue mine - I'm in charge but it's terribly difficult to keep control. I don't know how long I can keep their respect. I didn't ask to be in charge ...

Thanks Elephants! Smile Same to you,in a nice way!

CJ,I am so sorry for misjudging you,how could I ever have thought that you would hurt Pointless Grin.

Moomin,if you are venturing into feminism be very careful - it can be scary over there....

Pogleswood · 30/09/2010 21:40

Actually that was a slightly out of date reply to earlier posts which is why it makes no sense - sorry!

Wasn't the inter-grandparent rivalry just one lamb - that is,if we are in the same book?

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 30/09/2010 21:41

...But only when we're there Pogle, and we're here now glaring at CJ bonding with the livestock :o

Pogleswood · 30/09/2010 21:49
Smile Well,I am going now to bond with my own little lamb before she goes to bed! See you later/tomorrow!
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 30/09/2010 21:54

Ooh yes think was possibly only one lamb! I remember some kind of granny ultra-silver hair dye being employed. And curlers?

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/10/2010 00:59

Lumme, don't you encounter some trolls peculiar types over there?! Well done, you two, sterling work indeed!

But nope, not Katie-Morag!

...He wants everything to be perfect for his lady love. But I seriously doubt she's going to notice the livestock...

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 01/10/2010 01:45

Ooh a shepherd in love? Is she a bit of a no-good hussy?

Poor little Pointless.

That's a very nice way of putting it Moomin, goshdarn oddballs indeed. :)

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 01/10/2010 01:48

AIBU to worry about my sister?

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 01/10/2010 11:47

...she's fallen in love with an unobtainable man...

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/10/2010 12:44

They will do it. In what way is he unobtainable, Elephants? Too posh, married, uninterested?

...She's not a hussy! She's a lovely, gentle girl, although she doesn't have the fire and spirit of her cousin...

Pogleswood · 01/10/2010 12:47

Hmm,after yesterday's flurry of posting,I have run out of steam a little bit today!

You are obviously not BU,Elephants - but there is a lot of that kind of thing around...

MCP,and from Moomin too, please! (this whole lamb washing scenario doesn't sound quite real)

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 01/10/2010 13:12

...he's not our kind of person. Plus he's in love with somebody else...

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/10/2010 17:06

That does sound an obstacle, Elephants, but it's not insurmountable. MCP!

I'm now suffering from the handicap of having my current AIBU pinched from under my nose by a family member who wanted to read it again. Humph.

And where is CJ? Pointless is pining for you.Wink

...Well, I think the lamb washing and combing is most U but everything has to be prettified to perfection for the young lady's trip. He's watered the plants he bought for her so often they're drowning, and he's spent a fortune on frills and fancies to give the feminine touch...

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 01/10/2010 17:10

I think he's going a bit OTT Moomin, is he not used to female company?

CJ's earning the helpless trust love of Pointless by playing hard to get.

...The trouble is, I think Dsis would sacrifice anything to get near him...

CJCregg · 01/10/2010 17:35
Grin

Hello all

Completely lost. Not a single idea in what I am pleased to call my head.

Also about to sign off for the weekend, so have a good one everyone. I'll be back on Monday with renewed vigour and some curlers and hair dye I've borrowed from Alecina.

Pip, pip!

OP posts:
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 01/10/2010 17:55

Have a lovely time CJ :)

Erm, Moomin, are both of them a little more royal than they are pretending to be?

...Just as I feared, Dsis has given up everything to follow this bloke. I think this is going to be a painful experience for her...

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/10/2010 18:47

Have fun frivolling, CJ!Smile

Is DSis' beloved demonic, Elephants? MCP!

...Oh, no, he's used to women. In fact, his affair with a married woman was an open scandal when we were in Minorca. But here he is making sheep's eyes at a slip of a girl...

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 01/10/2010 18:57

I was imagining the old style velcro curlers Moomin :)

NI on yours but not sure I've ever read a book set in Minorca tbh...dash it.

...oh no he's not demonic, he's a normal man. If only Dsis could tell him the truth...

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/10/2010 19:19

Ohh, hair rollers, we called them! To me, curlers means heated curling tongs. Not that I can see Pointless standing still to have them pinned on anyway.

I take it DSis isn't normal then. So do you reckon she might be be feeling like a fish out of water?

...Oh, we're not in Minorca now, we're in England. And it's only a short jaunt down the coast. Though you would think it was a Royal Visit from the fuss he's making. The men aren't mutinous, but they're definitely muttering...

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 01/10/2010 19:33

:o Do you know, I think she just might be? Honestly, it's like feminism's never happened in daddy's underwater kingdom.

You win, erm, pain like hot knives, some nice foam?

You're some kind of sailor I know, but I don't reeeead books about sailors. (Actually I've read one, but no-one's heard of it)

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/10/2010 20:50

...Much as I like to pride myself on being a briny old salt I have to admit I still have trouble distinguishing starboard from larboard, and I've fallen overboard more times than I can count. My skills lie in other directions...

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 01/10/2010 21:40

Ships cat? Doctor? Cook? Ships, er, magician?

MoominMymbleandMy · 01/10/2010 23:16

Yes, one of those! Grin

I think we all know that feeling. That's why we do repeats. Wink

...Now, she's on board the Lively it's not so bad. The men think so much of her they don't mind all the fuss he made about prettifying the ship half as much...

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 01/10/2010 23:27

Which one? Or are you a feline medically trained cordon bleu wizard? Shock

AIBU to wish I had a more balanced diet?

MoominMymbleandMy · 02/10/2010 01:33

Not at all U if your diet's given you a stomach ache.

...I don't cook and I'm not furry, although sometimes I don't shave for a few days. And I'm not a wizard although some foolish souls seem to believe I can raise the dead...

Night, all!
