It always has
Knives, forks, spoons..... always

AI therefore BU to be irritated beyond belief that when DH unloads the sodding dishwasher that he cannot get it right? He always puts them in random places in our cutlery tray, but never knives, forks, spoons

I suspect he does it like this so that I stop asking him to do it, but we have been together for 15 years!

Knives, forks, spoons or AIBU?!!

Where should I be keeping my seafood forks?

(Not the same as fish forks)

KnottyLocks · 20/01/2010 13:46

And seafood cracker?

shabbytabby · 20/01/2010 13:48

LOL @ 'clean knife'. Was genuinely excited there

WhoIsAsking · 20/01/2010 13:49

Separate drawer for all extraneous cutlery.

Seafood forks (WTF?) Fish forks/knives, sugar spoons, measuring spoons, fruit knives, cheese knives, SPORKS, medicine spoons etc should be kept in a separate drawer - but not all mixed up, because that would be, quite frankly, DISGUSTING and WRONG. So essentially you all need 3 cutlery drawers. One for everyday cutlery (KNIVES, FORKS, SPOONS) one for utensils such as fish slices............

sorry.

Seafood forks and cracker......What's wrong with ordinary forks and a hammer!

What is a seafood cracker?

WhoIsAsking · 20/01/2010 13:56

I think those pliers that you open lobster with notagranny.

Can't believe you haven't got one.

Dandy - because knives first is the correct way to do it.

Zone2mum · 20/01/2010 13:57

I am astonished, knives first? Never heard of such a thing. I have always done it as forks, knives, spoons, just as for setting the table. As did my mother before me, and her mother before her, etc. etc.

KnottyLocks · 20/01/2010 13:58

Ta dah!

They were a present

plus3 · 20/01/2010 13:59

for lobster claws...am at the idea of knives before forks...however the soup spoons and dessert forks are in together (cowers..)

MumofOscar · 20/01/2010 14:01

Ooh ty knottylocks! Cutlery porn!

WhoIsAsking · 20/01/2010 14:01

Heh! Do you eat an inordinate amount of lobster/crab in order to need such a gift?

MumofOscar · 20/01/2010 14:02

Oh but look at the seafood scissors! Do you have them?! I want them. I neeed them.

plus3 · 20/01/2010 14:03

can I confess to expresso spoons..??

KnottyLocks · 20/01/2010 14:03

Lobsters £4 in Lidl!

But no, not often.

Jux · 20/01/2010 14:05

Wow, KnottyLocks, we have loads of those! I always thought they were peculiarly inefficient nutcrackers!

(and that the forks with them were short - therefore useless - fondue forks )

KnottyLocks · 20/01/2010 14:06

Also got these

Obviously very useful.

notagrannyyet · 20/01/2010 14:06

A hammer would do a grand job on a lobster....It works with crab. I use the same little toffee hammer mum used! Didn't know there was a special tool! That means I don't get an A* doesn't it.

WhoIsAsking · 20/01/2010 14:07

Oh yes plus3. Espresso spoons.

I never knew I had such a thing for cutlery until this thread.

I've been in denial!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 20/01/2010 14:07
