I suspect he does it like this so that I stop asking him to do it, but we have been together for 15 years!

sorry as a man i konow i must be wrong, but it is spoons,forks, knives with tea spoons under. and anyone with less than 3 cutlery drawers is just not trying.

shdad, you may be a man, but you speak more sense than 90% of the loons on this thread. I assume you are talking L-->R though. That holds the key to correct cutlery placement.

Rather, I've got three cutlery drawers.

One for the eating cutlery - Knives, Forks Spoons and napkins etc.

One for the kitchen cooking cutlery - sharp knives, kitchen bone handled knives (the only thing for making pastry and spreading butter), metal kitchen forks, and metal spoons and stirring spoons, oh and tea spoons at the front - all to hand by the cooker.

Then the third is for all the rest of the big stuff, fish slices, spatulas, big jam spoons, the mouli-grater etc etc which won't be compartmentalised.

Knives,Forks,Spoons at the mo but I actually prefer spoons in the centre...

Well technicallly its garlic press,pizza cutter tin-opener,small grater ,cake slice,knife sharper,large metal spoons,wooden spoon and spatula..other various do-dads, then knife,fork,spoon,compartment next to them kitchen knives and chopsticks?..running long the bottom teaspoons, fish knifes?? and my lone butter knife realises drawer is actually quite big

yup, KFS here too, or you have to open the drawer all the way and that takes...like ages...

it would be knives forks spoons except for some reason there are a lot more spoons then knives and forks and therefore they tend to jump the divide and end up in all three compartments. it doesn't bother me so much. what does is that our kitchen eats teaspoons. I regularly have to buy more. why?

I am of course assuming that you mean dessert spoons when you say spoons. and that you don't all have your dessert and teaspoons mixed up together. because clearly teaspoons go along the bottom in that compartment. right?
