OP posts:
bellaBuonNatalevita · 07/12/2008 23:01

why on earth would they not let you buy them?

KnickKnackNaNollaig · 07/12/2008 23:03
spookycharlotte121 · 07/12/2008 23:03

why wouldnt they let you?

NotanOtter · 07/12/2008 23:03

Its their 'policy not to sell more than 8 of anything' dontcha know

'depletes the shelves'

BUT BUT BUT

they assured me that i could phone up and p;ace a 'special order' next time

i assured them as i plonked the extra four boxes back on the counter that 'life was too short for special orders and next time i would go to Sainsburys where I can buy 26 boxes without anyone turning a hair'

Was it a BOGOF? They often have limits on the number you can buy.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 07/12/2008 23:04

where they on special discount ?

if so, YABU (and greedy)

TrinityRhino · 07/12/2008 23:04

what is one and why wouldn't they??

Amapoleon · 07/12/2008 23:04

What are Malties?

NotanOtter · 07/12/2008 23:04

Malties are cheapo shreddies!

I was WILD ( pmt!)

OP posts:
BibiJesus · 07/12/2008 23:04

Surely as long as they are selling 12 boxes it doesn't matter if it's to you or 6 to you and 6 to the next person.

madness

aGalChangedHerName · 07/12/2008 23:04

Whats a maltie?

roundcornvirgin · 07/12/2008 23:05

malties? Is that maltesers? Why do you want 12 boxes?

bellaBuonNatalevita · 07/12/2008 23:05

stupid jobsworth and policies - so what if 12 customers at the same time all had one box each?

AdventCandleQueen · 07/12/2008 23:05

Another reason why I don't bother with Tesco. Depletes the shelves? What a load of twaddle! Just go and stack it again you Shop Monkey!

NotanOtter · 07/12/2008 23:05

no offer just straight off the shelf ( which was chocca not depleted - i told her to go and look) and full price

"Its their 'policy not to sell more than 8 of anything' dontcha know"
That cant possiby be true???? or are you joking and I'm a gullible old fool?

scrooged · 07/12/2008 23:05

Why would you need 12 boxes?

Are they a shreddies substitute by the way?

thisisyesterday · 07/12/2008 23:05

seriously??? oh well, yet another thing I can add to my list of "things I hate about Tesco"

OP posts:
NotanOtter · 07/12/2008 23:07

i have 6 children...the boys eat one whole box a day sometimes

OP posts:
TrinityRhino · 07/12/2008 23:07

I have an overwhelming urge to go and try to buy 16 of something

actually I am going to

not to decide what

KnickKnackNaNollaig · 07/12/2008 23:07

bizarre, as surely you could have bought 8, put them in your car, retured and bought 8 more...as many times as you liked? and if need be, go to a different cashier each time

27 · 07/12/2008 23:07

I think that they have this policy because they are worried that shop keepers from other shops will buy up the tesco loss leaders and then sell them on. I know someone who used to do this, as it was often cheaper to buy from Tescos then from the wholesaler.

NotanOtter · 07/12/2008 23:08

they said you cannot EVER buy more than 8 of ANYTHING????
