Just seen a weather report where everyone is super excited about well above average temps.

Our local area water pressure has recently been turned down as a direct result of the drought.

Anyone else just so done with all this?

My kingdom for a cool night where I can sleep properly again!

It’s been FIVE MONTHS since I’ve been able to use a duvet.

No it isn't. It was 24 in my bedroom last night. We still need the fan and an open window!

Then that’s a home issue!

It will be damp, grey and overcast for six months before you can say “hot chocolate”.

Make the most of not needing heating, because heating is about to become very, very, very, expensive indeed.

YABU, it's lovely to have this nice weather so late into the year. 24C here today and it's glorious. I've been outside most of the day. Bring it on. I would love this weather til late October. Why is it such a devastating ordeal for you to have not used the duvet for 5 months?

It's not THAT hot? I'm in the SE and it reached 23c, pleasant but nowhere near to what we had over the Summer! Plus the temps drop away quickly in the afternoon at this time of year..

No, I love it!! Hanging on to the last vestiges of sun and warmth while I can before the eternal dark and rain arrive. It's perfect summer temperatures - well our usual summers anyway.And the nights are cool enough to sleep but not freezing. We have 9 months of winter, make the most of it!

That could well be it. Lots of homes now which get ridiculously hot and take a long time to cool down. Definitely in Southern England. Especially noticeable at night!!

I'm in the South West. It is warm and 89% humidity, 24 degrees. Set to be the same for about 10 days when it finally drops to 18.

I don't really know what a "home" issue is. Most houses built since 2000 will be hot when it's humid and sunny. I think we can assume those posting about warm bedrooms are not living in Georgian terraces.

I don't want it to be dark and cold. Hope it doesn't get very cold for a long time. Plus I don't enjoy paying £300 to Octopus in the winter months. The less I have to put the heating on, the better!

Agree. I honestly can't imagine anyone literally not being able to cope with this. I'm in the South West and it's been somewhere between 22c and 24c from around 12pm to 4.30pm. But it drops away after that and starts to feel like autumn. And it's quite chilly in the mornings.

Oh god yes. The sun is nice, but I wish this f-ing heat would just f OFF!! I'm in Essex and last night I was woken up twice by mosquitos. In late September! It is actually humid right now. In fact, this afternoon, when the sun came out, it could have been mid July. I long to get under a duvet without feeling like my body is on fire. God how I yearn to wear a scarf and see my breath.

I'm in Cumbria and it's about 14 degrees and drizzly and has been for the past 48 hours lol.

The weather is nice but the rain still hasn’t come, it’s been a week away all summer but when the day comes it’s a tiny shower, if anything. I’m sick of lugging watering cans around and a lot of the garden is still crispy and sad as I just can’t keep up with it after all these months.

Really? I'm in jumpers. T-shirt for 3 hrs. Hot? It's freezing at night and morning. I'm in your area. This is ridiculous now.

It's awful for us that can't work from home, unable to change clothes partway thought the day so go to work in warmer clothes when it's freezing and come home sweating when it's boiling and awfully humid (north west England here)

And you speak for yourself! Today has been grey with an annoying mizzle all day but stupidly warm. And that's me, speaking for myself and where I live.

I haven’t got the duvet over me yet. Window open just my short pjs.

What a load of melodrama. It isn’t that warm.

I’m still waiting for it to be warm enough to dispense with the duvet.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment - autumn needs to be autumn - given the rising energy costs I’m glad it’s still warm enough not to need any heating 😬
