AIBU to think my colleague is not too old for motherhood?

Work colleague and friend is having a much wanted first child, of course she’s got comments she’s too old I genuinely don’t feel she is just wondering what others thought

For me personally I feel 42 is too old, I had my last baby a month after I turned 35 and it was an awful pregnancy compared to my others and I've started all over again as my oldest is almost 18, ended up getting sterilised because I knew I didn't want to be any older and get pregnant again, saying that though that's just me, if someone else feels able to then it's no one else's business.

I do think it’s too old, imo. She’ll be paying for Uni in her 60s, plus all the other reasons she may struggle. I wouldn’t say anything to her though, it’s defo a personal (selfish) choice.

Personally would be too old for me.

I had mine in my late 30s and it had some unforseen issues... "mum can you be guarantor on my uni accommodation " - no love, they wont let me, I'm retired. (Had to scrape her 6 months rent in advance which was bloomin hard)

In the past, pre contraception, when women had four or five or more children it was completely normal to have your last child in either your late 30s or early 40s.

I think too old is when you are biologically too old so celebrities having egg donor babies at 53. Not 42 when you are still fertile.
