AIBU to find Dawn French's latest Trump comments more sad than funny?

I can't link Dawn French's latest rant, about Trump, but, if anyone else has seen it, do you find it funny. Or just feel very sorry for her?

How do you know it’s a he?

Who knows who anyone is?

icircleyouuuuuu · Today 13:17

She’s spot on.

So you don’t know then. Do you use he often when a poster doesn’t agree with you?

OtterlyAstounding · Today 13:18

Well, Trump has no problem making fun of people who are disabled. Behave like that, you invite the same behaviour in return.

Edited to say that as an aside, I cannot bear Dawn French weighing on world politics by talking in baby talk. I am rather sick of clueless celebrities diluting everything down to yes or no answers and "whose side are you on?"

Edited

But then you're mocking everyone who is incontinent, not just Trump.

There's a 50% chance someone is a he or she.

HollyhocksandPeons · Today 13:19

Leave the lovely Dawn alone - she has had a shitty life - everything needs to be taken in context.

Not on here, mn is overwhelmingly used by women.

Again, why is the onus on those on the left to go high?

I think for me, I have higher standards for my 'allies' than my 'enemies'. I expect the latter to behave poorly - that's part of why I don't agree with them, generally. But if the former starts behaving poorly too...well, then I'm just surrounded by idiots.

Where did I say you can't comment on French?

Doozycan · Today 13:23

It's not great, is it? I can't imagine recording it, watching it back and deciding to post it. I wondered if she was drunk.

Not drunk just woke up and thought i need to revive my failing status

I get your point Otterly, but given the abusive language used by the posters above, and hearing them say 'go high when they go low', the irony is hard not to comment on.

So I can't comment about Trump on a thread about... Trump?

If you read the thread, you'll see a poster accused me of derailing. I haven't policed anyone.

Well it’s not a thread about trump its a thread about Dawn French, and you’ve still told people not to talk about what she’s said previously

Er, no I haven't. Someone accused me of derailing, I pointed out that I was talking about Trump on a thread about Dawn French / Trump.

dudsville · Today 13:33

I don't have X, but I can see that the link describes her as saying that he's a breat big orange baby with a diaper on, or some such. I want humanity to criticise his politics, not his appearance or any physocal ailments. There's plenty to focus on with his politics/ethics.

She makes an absolute tit of herself eveytime. All that gurning and the baby voice just why Confused

I agree, I can't even concentrate on what she is saying due to the gurning and baby voice. I just don't watch her now.

JoshLymanSwagger · Today 13:37

Thankfully, M&S Christmas/New Years offerings have been wild and wacky for a few years, so I can just ignore her stupid fairy wings and boycott them this year.

Well done, Dawn - for taking the 💩 out of a trump.

And believe me, I can't stand him or his politics - or his stupid orange face.

eta I'm being sarcastic, btw.
Dawn was never funny.

It is a contentious thread, for sure. Mentions of baying mobs, and dramatics on your part, and curt dismissal on the part of others, where I've read up to.

I do think an anonymous internet forum discussing the rather fraught topic of French mocking Trump, in addition to her mocking a mass-murder, is very different to her as a celebrity putting those videos on social media. If she was in an argument with Trump, I'd understand her losing her temper!

DustCloud · Today 13:40

I have not seen anything of her in years until watching that, but she sounds really stupid doing that voice. Is it definitely her? It’s really odd.

I wondered that on a few of her recent videos.
She doesn't particularly come across as sober.

The insults directed at me are up there for you to see. Calling them 'curt dismissals' is minimising.

3luckystars · Today 13:42

She sounds drunk to me. Didn’t listen to it all and remembered why I don’t go onto twitter. Thanks 😁

I may not have read that far, as I said. I'll do that.

But I can understand people feeling angry, given that you appear to be minimising French's comments about mass murder, and have cast those who are disgusted by those comments in the role of a 'baying mob'. As I said, if she was in an argument with Trump, I wouldn't blame her for losing her temper, so I'm not sure I see the irony you mentioned earlier.
