AIBU to find Dawn French's latest Trump comments more sad than funny?

I can't link Dawn French's latest rant, about Trump, but, if anyone else has seen it, do you find it funny. Or just feel very sorry for her?

He mocked Iran didn"t he? That is turning out well.

Yep. But the man seems impervious to humiliation. Imagine how much better the world would be if Trump had even an ounce of humility? We might have avoided sky high oil prices and interest rates, for a start.

I could not care less who anyone mocks but when they end up looking more stupid than their target it's a bit of an own goal really.

That awful baby voice makes me want to scream. There is nothing more aggravating than an adult talking baby talk. It would be like nails down a black board even is she was funny, which she isn't.

Maybe she doesn't care about being funny, I don't know.

I would rather gouge my eyes out than post a video on social media but some people seem to see it as normal.

Does this stuff about Trump being faecally incontinent have any basis in reality? It started with the guy who wrote about The Apprentice, seemingly and circulates gleefully among online anti-trumpers but I don't think it has any authority behind it. It does fit in with a particular anti-Trump mythology about his body and appetites being grotesque though.

Anytime someone mocks, calls out, or shows any normal negative reaction to Trump, they have TDS. It's rather pathetic.

Why would she post it if she didn't think it was funny though, it makes no sense.

I hope she has someone irl who might advise her to keep clips to close friends only going forward. It seems cruel to ridicule someone making such a massive arse of herself yet she's put it out there.

She was on telly for about 40 years when the public were stuck with 4 or 5 channels, the reality filters broke years ago. The problem for stars of that era, and the likes of Harry and Meghan, is that there are millions of people who can tell jokes and make presentable podcasts etc. now that the Means of Production is in everyone"s hands, a lot of people who "made it" back in the day or were born into fame don"t necessarily have the talent to be noticed or to make much of a splash in the digital age.

I agree with what you're saying . Dawn French is still stuck there ! She needs to either quit that type of 'comedy' or update it, which she would probably be unable to do.

I believe she started popping up on "The Comic Strip Presents", around "82 or "83, maybe she wrote some of that stuff I don"t know? It was mildly amusing on a wet early 80"s night with a couple of cans I suppose but not earth shattering, and there were no signs of burning talent that would shine on even during the internet age when social media is rammed with people with "talent", back then the BBC decided who was going to be famous, now it is a different world but if you were known back then you are always going to get views online, and then I suppose it is up to the "star" what kind of content they choose to feed to those viewers?
Some try to give their views on now in a sensible truthful way and want to break away from the old image, some seem to think they are auditioning and there is still a major TV contract out there for them, DF seems to post consistently ridiculous trying too hard to be hip not as smart as it thinks "comedy", maybe time to hang up the web cam for a while and just be grateful you were all over the telly when that sort of thing meant something?

What a shame that one of the world funniest female comedians has apparently lost the plot and become so very unfunny. aside from the fact that a woman who seriously downplayed and mocked 1,200 Jews being killed and more being kidnapped and raped, all by Palestinians (with the compelling pro-Pal, nuanced a unmatched argument of “No!” 🙄) is still making weird videos, I think I’m mostly offended by how unfunny it is. Trump is the world easiest target for comedians, and this was the best she could do? I know it harks back to her 80’s sketches but even in that context it’s just not funny.
