To say all pro-Palestinians should watch Fauda on Netflix?

Now it is a drama about how the Israeli security services deal with the conflict but it is apparently pretty accurate and is amazingly well produced and acted.

Season 5, which covers Oct 7th has just come out after a long delay.

I've had to take a break after episode 7 because it's so distressing but it still doesn't even come close to what happened that day.

I think it's gives a clearer idea as to the truth of what has been going on and it does try to give a perspective from both sides.

I think every pro-Palestinian should watch it.

“On Sunday Israel’s culture minister, Miki Zohar, accused the directors on X of being willing to “harm their homeland in order to receive applause from antisemites around the world”.
“I will act immediately to revoke the Israeli citizenship of these despicable creators for treason against the state,” Zohar wrote on X.
Other Israeli ministers also took aim at the directors, who won an Oscar in 2025 for their film No Other Land about Israeli settler violence in the occupied West Bank.”

www.theguardian.com/film/2026/sep/14/gaza-documentary-makers-naza-israel-citizenship-ntwnfb

re corroboration:
Because the 24 separate insiders describe the exact same protocols, software, and administrative allowances for civilian death their testimonies corroborate one another regarding the institutional nature of the targeting.
(Please note this is based on reviews of the film online- I have yet to watch it myself.)

None of these "insiders" are named or identified. Meaning its impossible to verify whether or not they actually are "insiders". That's the problem with any documentary using anonymous sources.

The ICC don't "express an opinion"- they are a legal institution uniquely qualified to determine guilt or innocence in these matters.

Your argument is like saying popular opinion can convict a person of a crime. It is the epitome of "you are guilty because I say so". You are, in essence advocating for Trial by Media.

This is nonsensical.

Again, why are you on this thread if you don’t believe any person or organisation’s opinion is relevant?

I found the episode where they deliberately murdered young Palestinian children a tough watch. Oh wait - that was real life not a Netflix series

Have you also seen ‘the scenes’ of Hamas and other Gazans deliberately killing innocent Israelis, including children, on October 7th?
It’s not just all about a Netflix series, you know.

How do you know it’s ‘blatant propaganda’ if you haven’t watched it?

I haven’t watched it either but I’m going to go wildly out on a limb and suggest that the phrasing of the OP and OP’s subsequent posts indicate it probably is.

EnglishLady02 · 14/09/2026 09:22

But these same people would argue October 7th was entirely justified in the name of "resistance". Isn't that interesting?

No-one has said that or indicated they believe it.

I haven't claimed they are "all fake". I've looked at the videos and the vast majority are literally just out of context images of explosions. An explosion during a war is no prima facie evidence of atrocities.

The only social media accounts where we actually find evidence of atrocities are those of Palestinians: including, utilising child soldiers, rape and killing of civilians, torture and starvation of prisoners.

Reposting this as I didn’t quote the post I’m replying to

My post was about IDF soldiers, so I’m
not sure why you are talking about explosions (well, I am sure, it’s a technique you have used numerous times on this thread).

I haven't claimed they areall fake".

Yes, you specifically said that videos of videos of IDF soldiers posted by themselves are all fake

no solider is going to be that stupid as to film themselves and post it on social media

Its not about relevance, its about who has the authority to determine guilt or innocence. You seem to be stubbornly clinging to this belief your opinion is as valid as an ICC ruling.

Notice the context: I said "for arguments sake". This indicates a hypothetical proposition designed to test the theory.

I then asserted, correctly, none of the videos posted by soldiers acts show "war crimes". The vast majority just show explosions.

The 1st season of Fauda was aired in 2016, so 7 years before the current war.

I bet you think anything Israeli is 'propaganda' don't you?

Yeah so a politician having a tantrum. This doesn't really prove everything they said was correct.

Here for example is one of the journalists they interviewed being "fondly greeted" by Yahya Sinwar, leader of Hamas and architect of the October 7th attacks.

Now let's say a UK filmmaker created a documentary that involved interviewing someone who had proven links to a terrorist organisation which had killed British citizens. How would British politicians respond?

You won't find many takers OP; Jew hate is a recurring theme on Mumsnet.

Are you gaslighting or are you actually conflating Jews with the Israeli government?

I don't think anyone can claim anymore that Netanyahu and members of his government are not thoroughly morally corrupt Individuals. He is not the Jewish people just as Palestinians are not Hamas.

Has he done even one thing to make Jews safer?

Some people just automatically seem to try and shut down any discussion that they do not approve of. Just look at the sheer volume of antisemitic claims made when someone has clearly not been in the slightest. People are allowed to voice concerns and discussion should never be shut down and allegations made against people which are not true.

Blaming Israel for all antisemitism is gaslighting Jews BTW. The existence of a Jewish state isn't required for people to hate and attack Jews. Recent history should've taught us that.

So if Hamas members are involved in a "documentary" for example does that get classified as propaganda too?

Or they come out with that horrible “Hannibal Derective” claim, insinuating Israel killed its own citizens on October 7th.

It is well established that the IDF use the Hannibal Directive on occasion and that it was invoked on October 7 is hardly a horrible fringe theory.

What an odd attitude.
How can you determine whether something is accurate, worthwhile or simply propaganda based on the phrasing of the person who recommended it?
I’ve seen ‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’ being recommended by people on here whose other posts I might disagree with, it still wouldn’t occur to me to simply brush it off as ‘propaganda’.

On the contrary. Actual antisemitic attacks are frequently followed by gaslighting and saying the Israeli government is to blame for what happened. When more often than not it's a case of people who already hated Jews using the conflict as a pretext for violence.

EnglishLady02 · 14/09/2026 10:42

A UN report has established no more than 14 people were killed as a result of this. The conspiracy theory is all of the hundreds of hostages were deliberately killed by Israelis as well as everyone at the Nova festival.

Context is important.

TBF I agree with prevalent opinions in current Israeli discourse that they are traitors and should ideally never be allowed back into Israel.

They both obviously hate their country and their people and are a massive security risk.

There's a video going round on X (from a while back) where Abraham is going off on one at soldiers while flanked by Palestinians. From his demeanour, it's pretty obvious that he is a very dangerous useful idiot.

They've made a documentary based on unverifiable testimony twisting calculations made by every army in every war as somehow illegal, to deliberately incite hatred and outrage against Israel and the young men and women who put their lives on the line to protect Israeli citizens as well as knowingly putting diaspora Jews at further risk.

It should be taken very seriously.

The film hasn't even been available for the public to watch yet but people are talking about it as if they've already seen it. Even if it isn't released to the public for whatever reason, they will still be insisting that it was true.

Then pro-Pals have the gall to say Fauda is propaganda despite it being a fictional drama!

Anyho, back to the premise of the thread.

Fauda is now in the Top 10 in many ME countries and No 1 in Lebanon. Tonnes of people talking about it on X.

I think we can assume the pro-Pal posters on here have not bothered to watch it.
