To say all pro-Palestinians should watch Fauda on Netflix?

Now it is a drama about how the Israeli security services deal with the conflict but it is apparently pretty accurate and is amazingly well produced and acted.

Season 5, which covers Oct 7th has just come out after a long delay.

I've had to take a break after episode 7 because it's so distressing but it still doesn't even come close to what happened that day.

I think it's gives a clearer idea as to the truth of what has been going on and it does try to give a perspective from both sides.

I think every pro-Palestinian should watch it.

I think for a 2 state solution to have any hope of working in the long term there will have you be a similar programne like the denazification that happened in Germany when the war finished. When radicalisation of a population has been so ingrained and widespread starting before kindergarten it's going to be a long process.

There;s another clip where a Jordanian women says Palestinians have lots of children so they offer them up as martyrs. Its just... incomprehensible how they think. Golde Meir a former Israeli Prime Minister is supposed to have said "We can't have peace until the Palestinians love their children more than they hate us"

"Genocide" is a term being thrown around far too casually now and its losing all meaning. This isn't a good thing. "Genocide" specifically means targeting a group of people for extermination on the basis of their race, ethnicity, or religion. Gaza isn't a "genocide"- its a war.

But October 7th? That was genocide- Hamas killed those people for being Jews. They said that's what they wanted to do beforehand. Its what their clerics talk about month after month. Exterminating Jews.

I stand by the use of the word Genocide thanks.

You are so right , but only one side is being wiped out ….its not a war it’s genocide. The world stood back and watched . I don’t believe the Israeli government speak for all Jews many are saying “ Not in our name “

And its not even a distant thing. There's a lady who sometimes writes for the the Telegraph: Heidi Bachran I think. Two of her husband's relatives were killed on October 7th. One was a teenage girl. Not a soldier- a kid. Actually 18 British Citizens were also killed that day.

That (and every other reason) is why the lack of condemnation is so alarming. We wouldn't stand for people celebrating any other terrorist attack - so why 10/7?

On what basis? But perhaps more relevant: do you believe October 7th was a war crime or "justified resistance?"

And I stand by my use of genocide to describe what Hamas did that day, Actually, it wasn't just Hamas- some Palestinian civilians took hostages and r*ped women too.

This, and not even just ‘some’: About 6,000 Palestinians took part in the October 7th attack, ‘only’ 3,800 of them Hamas fighters.

I respect your right to do that.
I am thankful to live in a country where voicing an opinion isn't a crime. Great isn't it?

Some? You mean thousands of civilians have been well documented as joining in on 7th Oct and afterwards. Not to mention thousands more celebrating the attack.

Seeing Shani Louk's body being paraded through streets of celebrating Palestinians was one of the most shocking things to me. I mean I knew they weren't keen on Jews but to see men women and children gleefully cheering a young girls death really hammered home just how different we are. I woukd have expected parents to want to shield their children from horrific things ..but they didn't, it was the opposite.

Still not managed to find time to see even the first serie yet but Fauda is in the top 10 most-viewed Netflix shows across the whole Middle East.

Also I find it interesting that people in the west seem to be much more vocal about objecting to it than the countries below

#1 in Lebanon
#3 in Jordan
#4 in the United Arab Emirates
#4 in Qatar
#5 in Bahrain
#7 in Morocco
#7 in Kuwait
#8 in Egypt
#10 in Pakistan

From what I have read currently people in the above countries are watching 7th Oct and aftermath from the perspective of Israel civilians and various services

And that other young woman being bundled into a car who had blood on her pants, all around her crotch. I mean its obvious what they did to her before taking her. There's even a video of a Hamas member using the same word for female hostages as ISIS used for sex slaves.

Because it's actually such a good series to watch! One of the seasons is set in Gaza pre the war ( although obviously not filmed there). If you start it you'll be hooked.

Yes, that was rather an understatement. We're used to terrorism being well- terrorists. Not the general populace joining in.

Agree. Hating your neighbours, or even celebrating an attack on them before you know all the details of said attack, is one thing.
But cheering when actually presented with the broken body of an innocent young woman is an entirely different level.
I really can’t imagine a similar thing happening somewhere like Ukraine for instance.

It only shows a fraction of what happened that day. Deeply sanitised for mainstream audiences as I doubt Netflix would have shown it otherwise.

The most important thing is Israeli perspective.as it is often ignored because they're strong and have a big Army but look at the poor Palestinians.

I remember feeling quite sickened at the concern for the Palestinians, who we'd just seen praising god and spitting at dead bodies, and consequences in the direct aftermath, and that seemed more prominent than sympathy for Israelis (and the non Israeli victims).

The depiction of the Europeans and Hamas terrorists greeting each other warmly in the children's playground in the middle of an orgy of rape and slaughter were very important IMO.

Exactly, because they have a big army it doesn't mean horrible things can't happen.

Honestly also Yousef. The portrayal of an Arab Israeli protecting the Jewish family and being murdered by his fellow Muslims?. That's important too. It shows Israelis don't hate Arabs. Many are their fiends and neighbours.

”horrible things” HAVE happened

they have literally filmed themselves committing war crime after war crime in Gaza

but you and @FuadaFan seem so happy to defend them because you’ve watched a tv series

Horrible things have also happened to Israelis, and the perpetrators also ‘literally filmed themselves’.
I suppose that’s the reason PPs support them, not simply because ‘they watched a TV series’.

Here we go.

Please link to one of the millions of videos that flooded the internet during the 3 years of this war where the IDF 'literally filmed themselves committing war crime after war crime in Gaza'.

Basic ask - please ensure there is a real IDF soldier captured in the video.
